ww-promo 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Hello all!! Not posted on here for a while?!!.............. I have seen for sale a VR6 K reg in RED all for a TON?!!! I have not seen the C in the flesh so am wondering if it is a Bloody good steal or a heap of S.H.1.T ?!! Here is the spec: RED 136K 5 owners MOT 12 months (to be done before sale) No TAX Last service done a year ago (aparently) Body work is said to be clean and with no rust (prob got usual chips on) Fabric interior Think he said he had a bit of service history I have also just been told that K regs and before VR6s have differnet engines and are not as reliable as newer models:is this the case?! Any help appriciated!! Cheers 1.8 valver owner!
Jim 2 Posted June 13, 2007 Thats a very good price for a VR.. but go over that history with a fine tooth comb. And the "earlier than K reg" thing is complete boswellox. The earlier 4 cylinder engines are, I would argue, more reliable.. but none are specifically stronger than the others!
Taggart 0 Posted June 13, 2007 The earlier VR6s are dizzy and not coilpack, don't think they are particularly less reliable tho.
Paulr1980 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Could be that he's been offered that much or less on a px deal and wants it to go to a good home. If that's the case then your in! Wish it'd been around when I was looking.
Sonicriot13 0 Posted June 14, 2007 That is a very good price. Maybe the guy selling it just doesn't really know what it's worth.... maybe. It's gotta be worth checking out though. For that price I'd be tempted even if it is a skip.
Toad 0 Posted June 14, 2007 It's quite feasable, a lot of dealers will pay less than that for part ex on them. it's an old car after all. I'd take a look at it. might be onto a winner.
