davidwort 0 Posted September 23, 2008 You know, it's not always all bad news, we've had a couple of cars in our family sustain 'write off' damage and have ended up doing pretty well out of it, a certain 306 of my sister's was bought back for 50 quid after they said a front wing, bonnet and light would cost over a grand to fix, in fact they paid out 850 and the bodywork cost 400 to sort. And nothing is ever un-fixable, I drove a mk1 into a brick wall and bent an inner wing right round yet it was jigged out and repaired perfectly. Butterfly 0 Posted September 23, 2008 Thanks everyone for the kind words and similar experiance reports. Big group hug... I've had a friend and a family member both say 'good job you weren't in it' :cuckoo: I SOOOO wish I was in it when it started to slip.... oh well. Looking at it more subjectively a bit of a bash with a hammer on the rear panel and a new bumper (oh plus something to tidy up the spoiler) and it wouldn't look sooooo painful. Haven't a clue what the insurance would charge to buy it back but no doubt will find out soon. £400 excess though :pale: Oh, and driving it to the repair place I saw that the spoiler still works.. aww bless it :luvlove:
VAG-hag 0 Posted September 23, 2008 Hi Jude, To relpy to your earlier txt here is a link to that place I mentioned. http://www.emleyrefinishers.co.uk/ as i mentioned previously a mate of mine worked for him for years & he said the boss was a perfectionist. I also know how fussy my mate is with his work now! Also check out http://centralgaragebirdwell.com/ these guys are VERY good & only down the road from you. I used to pass every day when i worked @ mighty Sheffield & often there were some very exotic chariots awaiting paint. Hope this helps...... how about Pauls usual place? vornwend 0 Posted September 23, 2008 Damn that's bad luck Judith. You seem very stoical about it though. Could have happened to any of us.
Butterfly 0 Posted September 23, 2008 how about Pauls usual place? Naww, they are only a paint shop. I don't think a bit of filler painted over will sort this!! You seem very stoical about it though. I was pretty upset Sunday night and didn't sleep well but hey, worse things can happen at sea.... As my Dad is always saying.... And my Corrado looks a darn sight better than my sisters Volvo which she wrote of the week before.....and somehow, God must have been watching over her, she was able to walk away from. davidwort 0 Posted September 23, 2008  a very good reason to drive a volvo
Phil K 0 Posted September 23, 2008 Blimey! I was also in a road accident in the last couple of weeks which made a right mess of the vehicle I was in and probably lost me another of my 9 lives - scary stuff! Glad your sister was OK!

Butterfly 0 Posted September 24, 2008 You know that bumper.... I might be able to deliver.... Can I meet the teacher???? You are more than welcome to deliver the bumper. We have plenty of room to put you up. You can even come to the show if you like but I think it is standing room only now. Also happy to introduce you to Lara AKA Hells Belle but I think she would eat you alive.  :notworthy: just out of interest what and where is the show? The Velvet Burlesque show Saturday 4th Oct, Embassy Club, Sheffield tickets £10 and I think we will be selling all 500  Mine you, Lara had her car broken into recently and loads of show gear stolen.... It turned up strewn around a few streets, obviously not worth trying to sell (though I know of a few ladies who would love it..) anyway, Deepcar police have bought quite a few tickets I believe!! Toad 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Also happy to introduce you to Lara AKA Hells Belle but I think she would eat you alive. Is that a problem? I've been looking for a strong woman. Mostly so she can carry the shopping herself of course. ;)
davidwort 0 Posted September 25, 2008 I'm not complaining, but why is it that womens fitness classes are getting closer to soft porn every day? Pole dancing classes seem to be springing up all over the place too.

Butterfly 0 Posted September 25, 2008 What are you waiting for? NSFW added..... or did you mean posting other pictures?? I'm not complaining, but why is it that womens fitness classes are getting closer to soft porn every day? Pole dancing classes seem to be springing up all over the place too. Yep Pole Dancing is VERY hard work on the arms and shoulders. Only hard on the legs if you are doings 'hands free' poses.
