I am so achey today, ah well.

Just making a list of all the things I want to do on the Corrado, mainly just get it back to new OEM spec.

I was going to put the prices in for each item, but I'm having seconds thoughts!

2nd hand cross-member came today, some surface rust:

climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfcross1.JPG[/attachment:1inaewsw]

2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfcross2.JPG[/attachment:1inaewsw]

cost me £20 plus delivery which I didn't think was too bad, especially as it will fit my 16v and bro's G60 should one of us have a really duff one.

Also, can anyone see the resemblance in this...?

 Er, I've seen mine from all angles, and it doesn't look good :( Did you get that off the 'Bay? Might have to find one too...

Ha ha ha! :D That's good, but I agree Jonny 5 is better

yeah my CM was a bay item, will probably need wirebrushing minimum and then coating in something.

I was thinking that ET pic worked well due to the long neck, as opposed to the pistons that Jonny 5 employs, but I guess he is made of metal at least!

btw, the spare subframe we have looks really good...but one of the wishbone bolts is starting to round in it.

Want me to hire a petrol angle grinder again?

What would you recommend for a G60? Did my front mount last year, but thinking about doing the rear and gear mounts soon...

Just a standard Corrado one, had a heavy duty/diesel one on my golf and you could feel the idle vibrations in the cabin! It was awesome.

Reminds me... must do engine/Box mounts soon as well!

Think i'll go the Dismal route though.

Jon best of luck with the trak arms, did same with mates 170k Caddy and they were a right Be-atch to get off!

Cheers mate!

Will prob attach the rack back to the subframe briefly so I can get some torque onto the 32mm nuts for the arms.

guess i'm off to halford this avo then! Might pick up another 17mm socket to attack spare subframe-wishbone union with....grrr.

Worked out that my speedo doesn't work as my speedo cable has no drive on the gearbox end  just a bit of cable! Coool....

Also, went and picked up the 32mm spanner so that I could remove the dead track rods from my replacement PAS rack, thanks to Supercharged for the tip.

The diesel one on my vr gives no vibration at all, and the lack of engine/gearbox flopping around reduced understeer too.

Think the speedo cable just ends in a square bit of cable which slots into a square hole in the speedo gear. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to get the new one threaded through and fitted to the back of the instrument panel.

Oh right, maybe my cable is ok then. I tried getting in at the dials but I think they are held in place by the tension in the speedo cable (after i removed the screws)

The early clocks have a multiplug at either side, not one like the later dials, and the cable should unclip from the back of the clocks apparently. I couldn't get mine out though...

Wack a new cable in anyway, I don't think they are horrific money.

Multiplug as in wiring connector?

Got the track ends off the rack now, it was a beeeeeeeatch though esp as the spanner's only 12" at best!

Now i wanna refurb the rack (get all the muck off/out of it and maybe replace the seals) and spray it again. Not sure what to use though to be honest.

I still have to degrease before respray, and am a little concerned about grit getting inside the main rack itself.

Willl have to think on about how to clean it, if only I had some blanking plugs!
