KARMANN 0 Posted November 21, 2003 ok,the oil presure light keeps coming on in my 1.8 16v.comes on when i get to around 3k rpm.iv drain it and changed the oil it still comes on.dad says he disconected the wires on top of the filter housing and started it and it still came on,any suggestions cheers.everything else is running fine no overheating etc. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Henny 0 Posted November 21, 2003 There's a load of sensors on the gearbox end of the head on a KR (1.8 16V) engine. It's possible that one of these has lost it's wire, become faulty or that the terminal has snapped off one of them :roll: It's also possible, as andycowuk says, that the oil pump's gone... :shock: Check the sensors first... KARMANN 0 Posted November 24, 2003 cheers guys,already checked the top of filter housing its ok.forgot to metion that it was overheating but got that sorted them the oil pressure prob started,spoke to couple of mechanics today they recon its just a faulty sensor as the enigine got soked with water.
