Yandards 0 Posted August 7, 2008 SNARF!!! is that the driveshaft snapped? Looks like the wheel bolts came undone, must be a few back up the road!
boost monkey 0 Posted August 7, 2008 :brickwall: gotta remember to check those bad boys within 30 miles of the wheel being off! :salute: Sorry to see it caused so much damage though.
andyherd 0 Posted August 7, 2008 I think the wheel bolts must have sheered off going over a few bumps, couldn't even find them on the road. There were spacers on the front wheels when my mate bought it but he took them off and I suspect he only hand tightened the wheel bolts when he put them back on. Amazingly we got a jack under it, put the wheel back on (I made sure the new wheel bolts were properly tightened this time) and took the car to his house. I told him I certainly wasn't driving it down to his though!!!

Walesy 0 Posted August 7, 2008 It could be that you rumbled someone trying to nick the wheels and had only got as far as taking the bolts out of one?

coullstar 0 Posted August 7, 2008 If the bolts sheared then they should have still been in the hub. More likely to be loose. If you dont fit wheels that sit on the hub right or use the correct spigot rings this can happen. Happen to me before but I managed to stop before the wheel came off. andyherd 0 Posted August 8, 2008 Whats the damage like underneath? Is the sill bent to feck!? Im checking my wheel bolts first thing in the morning  To be honest the only damage done was what you can see really. The wing is knackered, think the bonnet is marked and so are the door and bumper, thats about it!!!!! Oh and the inside of the alloys is marked from where the brake disc was rolling around inside it
