15" G60 Steelies - what do you think?

Hi all :wave:

 

What do you think of these 15" G60 steelies on my C?

Not sure if I like them better than my BBS rims (OEM)... :scratch:

I do quite like the steelies (especially with the silver paintwork). Would prefer it with the BBS though.

Not a fan of G60 steels on Rados apart from on silver cars, so you're OK with me :-)

Thanks for your thoughts, they seem to concur with mine.

 

My good lady wife is yet to be convinced, but I think that as winter wheels they are the way forward :salute:

 

Haven't bought them yet - it's Potatoshop trickery above :grin: There's a group buy on (4 for for £145 inc caps etc.) I think through ClubGTi.

 

Will ponder some more :wink:

as steelies go theyre really nice- IMO they look loads better with the flat centre caps though so you cant see the bolts:

I like them too matey. I ran a set on my black G60 for 3 years and a lot of people liked them more seeing them on the car after being a bit iffy about them when they got told about them.

can some one tell me...

 

the black centre covers do they just push over the bolts ie can anyone just pull them off?

 

the silver centre caps do they just clip in?

 

and finally is it one or the other or do both fit on at the same time?

The black plastic centres just push over and anyone can remove them but in nearly 4 years of ownership I never had any stolen or lost. Don't know about the silver sentre caps though matey. HTH

There's plenty of mk2 & mk3 golfs at breakers yards happy to donate their flat caps.

with the centre caps.. what size are people using as there are some in 175mm and some in 165mm, i have measured my steelies and i would say that they could both fit?

With the flat caps it's the depth of the clip mounts on the back you have to get right, too short and they don't 'clip', too long and the caps stick out.

Flat caps 175mm wide, with mounts 35mm deep (including clips installed) fit nicely on G60 steels
