M15 VW 0 Posted September 26, 2008 Well I thought it's about time Zed had his own build thread seeing as he and I have been through so much. Here goes.. I bought him in 2004 like this as I couldnt afford a "proper" corrado vr6 (by proper I meant one that was running). A cat d and in the middle of being broken for spares... and started rebuilding him. months of hard work and I finally got him at the stage where I could take him to the bodyshop... Finally almost looking like a "proper" corrado... someone decided to crow bar his boot... all fixed... lovely ride height lol... Finally get to park with other proper corrados... got him some grey leather... e38 2005... no rice nov 05... dubs at the park 2006 no rice jan 06... At The Rolling road ... Feb 07....rear arches pulled an inch each side... Inters 07 with the charger on (before the engine rebuild)... Rebuild... and a whole many more months of arsing about doing the chains, tensioners, pads three times to find out it was the bottom end. A whole load of more rebuild pics. Sold the supercharger, bought a 49k 12v engine, and in it goes. Bought some recaros in a bit of a state... Here we come to today... Before... And after... Here we have......the newly refurbed....Blackberrys and cream (recaros)....

Bournemouth James 0 Posted September 26, 2008 Well done, looks like a very good job, infact the seats look brand new in the photos, Its something i want to do to my front cream recaros, but cant decide weather to get it done profesionally or do it myself, is it a very hard job? Phil K 0 Posted September 26, 2008 That looks very cool with the cream recaro's - a perfect combo IMO! Did you do the rears as well or is that on the to do list? Are they electric? Any plans to change to a black dash?

Any plans to change to a black dash? Yes they are electric. Im going to clean the cards and rear seats properly first and then see if I want to redye them. The dash is staying grey - I dont like the black dashboards.
Bournemouth James 0 Posted September 26, 2008 Cool, where did you get the dye from?, did they have to colour match it for you?, what about the vinyl parts of the interior are they dyeable?

M15 VW 0 Posted September 26, 2008 Cool, where did you get the dye from?, did they have to colour match it for you?, what about the vinyl parts of the interior are they dyeable? I sent them a sample to colour match. Costs an extra £5 but well worth it. I got the spray kit from http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk I also got the matt finishing spray instead of gloss. They called the same day they got the sample and sent it that day on next day delivery. Yes the vinyl parts can be dyed too (as can plastic trim :) )
M15 VW 0 Posted September 26, 2008 blackberry and cream just looks so right 8) so whats next for Zed then Nikki. peanut 0 Posted September 26, 2008 @karl- its a tw@t to get that cloth off the parcel shelf. I did it earlier and managed to get it off in one piece thankfully , so we can use that as a template.

fla 9 Posted September 26, 2008 Very nice indeed, some serious effort with worthwhile results. Shame you got rid of the TT comps, one of my fave wheels for the C, which is why i've got them on mine :)
