Sonicriot13 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Yikes! I normally use G-Werks for any stuff I can't do myself but they are way down south mate. When you say you are willing to travel how far do you mean exactly?
raddo_tom 0 Posted March 2, 2009 where in london is it?? (or down south) lol. I'm not immensely bothered how far i have to travel as long as i get a real good job done!
Sonicriot13 0 Posted March 2, 2009 They are down in West Sussex mate. On the south coast! Here's their site: www.g-werks.com But they are brilliant. Excellent service and they really know their stuff inside out. They did a rebuild for me in December plus some other bits. If you don't mind the trip defo give them a look. I'm sure someone will come back soon with someone who is a bit closer matey. If you google G Lader servicing a few come up but I couldn't tell what they're like. Only ever been to G-Werks. raddo_tom 0 Posted March 2, 2009 I'm just scared to take it to a cowboy..... My usuall mechanic who i've been going to for years just laughed at me when i rolled up in the 60. He had one blow a charger whilst he was moting it in the 90's and ever since then he won't touch one! lol.
Walesy 0 Posted March 2, 2009 If you need your charger rebuilt, then it's worth taking it off and sending it down to G-Werks! But for belt changes, frankly you'd be mad to travel from Manchester to the south coast just to get it done there! There's bound to be countless places that will be more than capable of doing it that are closer to you, i'm sure there people on here that can recommend you a place mate :)
dirtytorque 0 Posted March 2, 2009 isn't awesome in manchester? Any good mechanic who has worked on a few VW engines will be able to sort out your PAS. A trip to g-werks would be a tad excessive.
raddo_tom 0 Posted March 2, 2009 I've heard nothing but horror storys about Awesome!... I'll just have to find myself a good garage I guess. Suppose i'm just nervous as the 60 is not your normal engine...
g60karmann 0 Posted March 2, 2009 one major problem you will have is getting hold of the PAS pump mount. VW don't have any, TPS don't have any and I have tried to get one off of here for the last 5 months with no luck, they really are none around, unless you get lucky at a breakers. By the way you can't get a 16v mount to fit either :(

Walesy 0 Posted March 2, 2009 I'll just have to find myself a good garage I guess. Suppose i'm just nervous as the 60 is not your normal engine... Its just an 8v with a hairdryer strapped on top mate, it shouldn't be too difficult to find someone willing and able to sort it out, the chargers the only bit thats 'specialist' :camp:
raddo_tom 0 Posted March 2, 2009 lol.... I'll bite the bullet or just beat my usuall mechanic into submission.... lol.
