odub 0 Posted September 4, 2014 After nearly 2 and a half years it's about time for an update. I left the UK and went to work on a boat doing a bit of sailing whilst collecting parts and having work done on the C. The original idea of having a bit of body work done then back on the road never played out and now it is heading down the 20vt route
odub 0 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Before I left England I needed a run around so what better than one of these I now have a few bits collected and being bolted together. I'll mainly let the pictures do the talking K04 to replace the original k03 I have this pile of goodies with the emphasis being on reliability the block has been bored out to take the capacity to a 1.9l with these pistons stripped out on the bench all new genuine VW seals and gaskets including a new oil pump, just in case Edited September 4, 2014 by odub
odub 0 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I also have a few other parts being collected including my corrado vdo gauges from Pat McCrotch, not sure what's happened to him but haven't seen him on here for a while the plan is to have the dash and pillar trims flocked in black so these will suit and a US spec high level brake light I have these fellas to help slow it all down and for a bit more air flow I have these BMW 3 series vents which will take the place of the fog lights I just need to get some time to start building everything back up now and make a decision on what to do with the interior Edited September 4, 2014 by odub
odub 0 Posted September 12, 2014 A few more pieces are coming together A mocal cooler with sandwich plate and some of Daves stainless radiator brackets A CTN code 02a gearbox fresh on a pallet, will have to see the difference that this makes And one of my old 1.8t pistons complete with dings in the top where the valves have met it. Having a quick wash in the dishwasher

odub 0 Posted April 19, 2015 Another 6 or 7 months has past, but just of late I have been busy collecting parts [/url] Skanky new radiator bracket parts because mine snapped and sheared on removal Some Borbet C in 17x7.5" flavour that were mega cheap from a chap who had them on an E30 BMW but could not sell them on BMW forums. Perfect And then the best bit. Purchased from Trackslag, 3 inch to 2.5 inch turbo downpipe
odub 0 Posted April 19, 2015 A couple of evenings back I opened the doors to this: And after a bit of digging, dropped the car back on the ground and rolled outside for the first time in about 4 years Lots more to follow soon hopefully
odub 0 Posted May 16, 2015 Today I've got the Borbets fitted Fitment is pretty good although I think I may wind up the coillies a few mm and found my Turbo Technics boost gauge and SWG vent I should have some more time coming up to hit things a bit harder

odub 0 Posted May 16, 2015 Cheers. Have also had word that my engine parts are back from the powder coaters and with the engine builder, so hopefully soon there will be a motor on its way
odub 0 Posted February 29, 2016 Just to bring my thread back, I've not forgotten about this car but life took over and I have also delved into Audi ownership, so spent a bit of cash there on a mk1 TT. Parts are now being ordered and I'm excited to pull the corrado out of the shed and up to the workshop. I shamefully have no more pictures or updates but will do soon. Thanks
odub 0 Posted June 4, 2016 Things are slowly coming together and I'm getting lined up to have a full respray on the car including the engine bay. Sometimes I wish I hadn't chosen the engine I went with and just did a straight 20v swap without going for a full build but now have all the parts I need to finish it. One of the hardest parts to get hold of was the oil filter housing from a 1.9 tdi to change this: To this: This gives me the angle I need and provides an oil feed for the turbo Hopefully more soon
odub 0 Posted July 9, 2016 I dragged the car out for the first time in a while today. Have got the brakes fitted up They look fripping awesome and should stop it ok Had to take them back off after the trial fit because the wheels are touching the caliper! Bit of a bummer as I was hoping not to have to use spacers Also swapped over my slimline fan and bracket setup from the old rad to the new one
Bauhaus 3 Posted July 10, 2016 Those brakes will make a huge difference, I had to use 3mm spacers on my wheels just to gain minimum clearance. Will you be upgrading the rears ?
odub 0 Posted July 10, 2016 I'm keen to get the car back on the road so will probably leave the rears for now and see how it performs once it's all up and running. I have got to drop the whole rear beam off and change the bushes and brake lines. Are you running the exact same brakes? At a glance, I was looking to fit a 5mm spacer
Bauhaus 3 Posted July 10, 2016 Yes I'm running Porsche Boxster S 986/996 front calipers, I originally used 3mm spacers but it did look a tad close at 1mm clearance on my old school OZ Polaris wheels, I ran them like that for a few days but later changed to 5mm.
