A6 to Rushden, then B645 to St Neots, then south on A1(M) for two junctions to meet up with the A421 to Bedford.

B645 in particular is a good road but be warned that Bikers love it as well.

You could also go on the A6 to Rushden, A45 to Wellingborough, Then A509 to Newport Pagnell - Good road if it's empty, then Chicheley (sp?) to Bedford.

I grew up in that area so just trying to think where I used to go out and about. Never really used to go north of the A45 very often.... I'll have a more indepth think....

If it a good day Sunday then stay away from main routes to the coast... even early it'll be a mare!

B-road blasts FTW!

B4011 Bicester -> Thame great bit of raod, as are the ones up in the chilterns, past Chequers... only issue will be Sunday drivers!

Gey up at 3am and go, you can be finished and home by 10 and miss most of the plebs!

I used to live in Blunham, surely Biggleswade to Upper Caldecote, Ickwell, Northill, Cople into Bedford ?

Then, Bromham, stevington, Carlton, Little Odell, Bozeat, Castle Ashby, Cogenhoe, Houghton to Northampton.

And back along the B645.

In my opinion, A45, A43 and M40 are boring !!!!!!!!!!! Ok for putting your foot down, but not a good drive !!!!

Have fun, what ever you decide. I will be watching the Grand prix :D
