Centre Wheel Cover??

hey hey,

 

I have some fox alloys that im currently re-conditioning

 

Here they are (sorry about the picture quality)

I wont to change the Centre cover of each wheel to say something other than Fox racing :gag: !!!

does any 1 have any ideas on the best way to go about this?? I dont wont to spray it on as the plastic that the current sticker is attached too because it isn't smooth, id have to sand it and other nonsense.

 

i was thinking of trying to spray a stencil of the image onto a plastic disc then gluing it in ? :shrug:

centre caps first or whatever colour you want as a background

and get the g60 stickers made and then lay them over that

and your done,i have done this before on a set of pro race 2s i had,

i can get all the vinyl stickers made for you if you want?

This all looks familiar! Been doing the same to a set of Team Dynamics this week, repainting them that is :D

 

How big is the bit of cover the badge sits in? If it were me, I would cut out a 55mm hole and just pop some standard VW centre caps in.

pretty tough stuff,i could see about getting you four pieces

of background and four with whatever text you want,

Got to agree with Kev Alex, I'd have to go with a VW roundel, plus you can source them far easier, when you lose one, or have one/all of them nicked!!

black bk ground with red txt and yeh, i wonted them to just say G60 in the correct font. All i need to do then is get a 58mm blank to fix in the cover and bobs your tea pot. could you give me an idea of cost?

they'll have to take the whole cover just to get the badge! anywho if im making them myself then there wont be a problem with sourcing more :wink: I wont a cheep solution untill i can afford some new bbs alloys and i also wont something a little different, not just the usual VW logo like every one else :tongue:

Hi I'm also using the same set like on the picture i got excited coz i really need to redo the wheel cover of it vinyl is great wont you think?

That Bernie chap never got back to me I think mate... The wheels have since ben put on the side lines as the rado is SORN, been trying to fix her up

 

The method sounded good though. Was going to get vinyl from maplin or a craft place, cut out the centre caps and then use this stuff - http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/pr ... er_151.htm to print the logo onto. Then it's just a case of sealing it and making it water tight with some clear varnish or something

£10 is'nt bad... I would need 4 though and would have to add the £2 custom size thing as well... might as well just make them myself for the cost of a few caps

Just as an update I went with this option in the end (thanks stretch.) I spent 16.50 for 5 caps of 58mm with custom logo.

 

Not bad! just need to finish spraying the wheels now! lol

They took a long time coming but i got them and they do look the buisness i must say. Self adhesive but i'll probably use a little epoxy to help it stick.

the g60 is printed on a backing and the gel overlay is about 2mm thick and rounded at the edges.
