Supercharged 2 Posted January 14, 2004 One side of the car needs a respray following my last (and I mean last) trip to tesco's, that side of the car has already been resprayed at some point and its a terrible job, masked round seal and paint is pealing round it and also got paint on the seal so I was hoping to buy a new seal and make sure it was done properly this time! - any suggestions, Is the seal removable seperatly?? Ice White Socks 0 Posted January 15, 2004 I was looking at the Bentley manual a while ago and they come with some kind of cutter built in to the seal itself to get the window out. I'll have a look in it tonight if no one beats me to it and tell you what it says. It must be complicated mind because when my VR went in for body work, the body shop wouldn't touch the rear quarter window, they left it to a specialist to both take it out and put it back in again :shock: :shock: Cheers Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

20v turbo 0 Posted January 15, 2004 the trim on the front&rear windows just pulls out&and pops back in quiet easy,the rear quarter windows,the seals are have to be cut out so no good for reuseing.as for masking them up 3m piant products do some special window masking tape,its an exellent product that has a hard plastic edge to it,you tuck it down behind the rubber then pull it back&stick it to the window this then allows piant to go behind the seals &gives a much better finish. Although I don't drive up and down curbs 'cos I'm scared of them after writing my last C off going up a curb sideways :? (and backwards at the time!) And by creek I mean you can hear the headlining and A pillar trims creak as the shell twists. The only car that hasn't twisted on my drive is a BMW EDIT - I meant Creak, not Dawson's Creek! Don't get me wrong, the C doesn't twist like a crisp packet on uneven surfaces, just enough to make the headlining and pillar trims move slightly. It happens on a 10 yr old car unfortunately :?
