big ben 10 Posted November 13, 2009 i love the way most people who have owned corrados, know one day they will own another. I intend to just keep mine though, no matter what happens :D
Bullfinch 0 Posted November 18, 2009 Back in 1999 I part ex'd my Blackberry VR6 for a brand new Mk 4 Golf GTi (150 hp). At least I had air con but it was nowhere near as fast or good round corners. In 2003-4 I lived in Houston and drove a Jetta (Bora to UK folk at that time) 1.8T Wolfsburg edition. It had the 180 bhp engine and had a tiptronic box but never used it...just stuck it in D and cruised along the freeways feeling very small compared to F-150's and the like. Back in UK in 2005 I swapped the Golf for an Audi TT Quattro 225 bhp in Moro blue with cream leather - a big step up in performance and re-discovered some of that driving pleasure the corrado gave me. In 2008 I got a new Mk2 TT 2.0T in silver with nappa red leather and 18" turbine alloys (the porn star look :luvlove: ). Only 200 bhp but feels much quicker - it really is a great engine plus the car has great handling. Also a rear spoiler that raises at speed - I wondered what that reminded me of. So why do I have a Corrado again? Well me and the missus sometimes do have friends or relatives staying so trying to get four in a TT wasn't practical. I sold her the idea we needed a more practical car for such occasions and that was that....there was only ever going to be one car to use as practical 2nd car...hence a Corrado is now back after a 10 year gap. garrett 0 Posted November 23, 2009 Had a white early valver, swapped that for a 205 GTi, then got a BMW Compact. Now have a Alfa GTV V6. But I think in the new year I'll be back in a Corrado. I fancy a white VR6...
Rustynuts 0 Posted November 23, 2009 2.0 Tdi Leon Sport, company car. Very good car, especially after the remap. Engine noise is not the best though  Still got two Golfs, my Mk2 I have had 9 years now and has a little bit of Corrado in it now, namely a G60 engine :D. Plus my Gti Cab, what a great summer car. I have had 3 x G60's (broken 2 due to one being crashed into and the other was bought as a breaker for my Mk2) 1 x 1.8 16v that I rebuilt the engine on, 1 x 2.0l 16v that I bought to trade and also 2 x VR6 again for the same reasons. I will prob have more, especially if my little venture really takes off. I love Corrados and I find it hard not having one about.
harin 0 Posted November 24, 2009 Land Rover Defender 90! Something similar to this: http://www.landrover-addict.co.uk/acata ... -1-1-s.jpg EDIT: I should add it costs roughly the same petrol wise, although speed bumps not an issue any more! Lets just say it was an impulse buy! Still have the VR6 on SORN. I'm keeping the VR for the moment but telling everyone that I'm planning to sell to keep them quiet - screw that! Not ready just yet! :)
raddo_tom 0 Posted November 24, 2009 Whilst My corrado is off the road (for quite a while I'm guessing!) I'm currently driving a 1988 5dr 1.2 Nova Merit! (The other 1/2's car) It's brilliant! GTE interior, Cherry bomb exhaust. Lowered 60mm. Fuel wise it's brilliant 250+ miles to a £35 tank! Don't 1/2 miss the power and comfort of the Corrado though! Danny B 0 Posted November 24, 2009 I think the forum deserves a big shout out considering how many users there now seem to be who dont even own a corrado  well done everyone :salute:

I still peep in my rear view mirror when accelerating to watch the spolier come up! (Obviously doesn't happen!) I saw a Corrado last night coming off the M25 and went to wave/flash hazards etc! Definitely regret not replacing my valver with a VR6...

kebabman 0 Posted June 23, 2010 It's the V8 not the V10, $60k just for the engine swap was a bit steep! :cuckoo: It got almost all the options (Carbon Fibre pack interior, side-pods and engine bay 8)) though. Sound awesome, not as loud as the 6.2V8 Challenger SRT8, but growly and aggressive sounding in a more refined way, I prefer it. Redline is crazy high for a 4.2 V8. 305width tyres on the back, 235 on the front, fair to say it's got some grip but it's so easy to drive it makes even a ham fisted monkey like me look like I know how to drive fast. Not bad for a daily driver. :D One thing I did notice, the cost of ownership in the UK must be mental it's got a 90L petrol tank and only takes 98RON. Here it costs me about $50 to fill, that gets 300-320miles depending how I drive. From when I was last in the UK at £1.20-ish a litre it's like £110 per fill up over there!
8vMatt 1 Posted June 23, 2010 Ahh I see kebab's are the business to be in! Wow awesome car. Could you do a thread with an in depth review of the car and lots of pics, love it. If you had to work hard to get it, fair play and well deserved. If it was a lottery win, bugger why didn't my numbers come up! Haha, great one mate. skinnyman9000 0 Posted June 25, 2010 I've had my rado for over 3yrs now, and to be honest the plan is to sell up/break it for parts in 1-2yrs time, with the idea of buying something practical  and diesel  to replace it as my daily. BUT, the idea of this plan is to then allow me to own a nicer example rado as a second car. I just dont have the time to look after mine, and with me buying a house next year funds will be even tighter, so i'd rather move on and come back to rado ownership when the situation makes it easier. rado2 0 Posted September 1, 2010 I had a white valver back in 2000 loved that car had it for a few years spent a fortune on it then some friend crashed it for me which broke my heart . couldnt afford to replace it at the time so had a coulpe of golfs and e30 bmw then brought a 99 passat 1.8t which i ended up turning into 310bhp monster and it was fun, peoples faces when you put your foot down :D . Here is the good bit my girlfriend got me one of those track days in an audi r8 which was fantastic but after my 4 or 5 laps in it i got out and turned to my girlfriend and said i have to have another corrado cos it was the only thing i had driven in recent years that reminded me so much of the corrado so now i have a storm grey vr6 which is great . I didn't know you were a member on here Mark. That white Corrado was a real beauty; it was the reason I bought one in fact. It was never going to be as quick as that pesky GTE 16v but what a looker.
