Uniroyal RainExpert ?

Just looking at tyres as I need a pair shortly and notice there is now a 'RainExpert'

 

Not sure if this is a replacement for the Rainsport2 as it's the same price at £ 31.79

Yeah - just read the same thing John, cheers for that... I was wondering if the Expert was actually the Rainsport3 but that is on it's way apparently...

Uniroyal's products named Which? Best Buys

Uniroyal’s RainSport 2 and newly launched RainExpert have been named Which? Best Buy in the consumer associations most recent tyre test. The RainSport 2 tyre also received an extra credit, a Which? exceptional value honour.

The RainSport 2 tyre scored equal overall to a leading premium competitor in the 205/55 R16W test. Which? commented that you could buy four RainSport 2’s for the price of three of the competitors tyres.

Which? also commented on the RainSport 2’s performance during the test; “the tyre has good all-round grip, handles well in wet and dry conditions and resists aquaplaning well on the straights and in bends.”

The RainExpert only arrived in the UK this January but has already proven itself with a Which? Best Buy in the 185/60R14 H test. Which? researchers said; “The Uniroyal Rain Expert lives up to its name tag thanks to its class-leading wet grip.”

Scott Benbow, product manager for Uniroyal said; “This is a great endorsement for the Uniroyal brand. Both the RainExpert and the RainSport 2 deliver outstanding performance and give motorists greater safety in wet conditions when it is most needed. The Which? Iv got a set of rainsport 2s going on tommorow, I'll let you know what there like

So far they seem good, havent pushed it but they seem grippy in the rain weve had latley, better in the wet than the toyo t1r s I had on the last car havent driven in the dry since I got them tho.

I've recently fitted these on my Polo. Got to say I'm very pleased from what I have experienced so far.

Rainsports are superb tyres.. some of the best I've ever had, but admittedly have never gone up into the lofty heights of things like P-Zero Nero's, etc... :)

I really like my RainSport2s. I've had them since June and they're nicely worn in now. They were a bit slippery but have improved. Not quite as good as old style F1 GSD3s, but they're long gone now.

 

The RainSport2s did well on the slushy roads from Edinburgh to Nottingham yesterday...
