VR6 Supersprint manifold/downpipe

Recommended Posts

I don't think anyone on here has tried one due to the horrific price of it, but check with Vince at Stealth for confirmation. I seem to remember him saying they definitely do not fit.

I've heard the cheap raceland ones are nearly as good. That is extortionate amounts of money considering the gains.

Cheers Kev. It's actually Vince who thinks it will not fit. I've since been on the dog to Euro Car Parts £640.78 (official UK distributor) and they say the same. I think steering rack and/or pipes in the way is the issue.

Reason I asked is that there are certainly UK Corrados out there with them fitted. BILLCOR or should I say Ben-B now :) comes to mind. If these manifolds do actually fit I'd love to know for sure...

Abdul, never pay the sticker price ;)

But I 'want' a Supersprint :) But agree Racelands do look well made for a budget manifold, Kam Racing words not mind.

SuperSprint headers always give me warm, fuzzy feelings :D Shame my wallet doesn't agree :?

Well in theory, both LHD and RHD headers need to go into the tunnel at the same place in order to meet Mr Cat and his Alytic converter. That bit is standard on all Corrado VR6s. What is probably throwing the spanner in the works is the position of the steering rack's UJ. So I would imagine it's just a case of bend me, shake me, any way you want me..... but obviously SuperSprint won't recommend you take an oxy torch to their work of art :D

Stop it! You can't just post pics of automotive porn like that!

That's great Bill, just what I thought. Did you fit it yourself or was it Star Performance?

Star Performance fitted it, I heat wrapped it before fitting

So if they go straight on, why on earth are SS selling it as LHD only?

We actually had this conversation when I bought mine Kev, you had me worried that I'd wasted my hard earned

Here's a link for a MK3 VR system, same part number http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/113602/volkswagen/supersprint-manifold/sp885701.html

take a good look at this headers.

S2 Metalwerks header 040

Spacially if you are willing to spend the money of the SS, this is an even better option. I am using them and they work fit and sound beautilfully, and the quality is second to none.
