Heater Control Panel

Recommended Posts

Hi, does anyone on here know what other vehicles heater control panel fits in a late dash VR6?

I know the early Seat Toledo one does, just wondering if there are any others?

Cheers

Update: I've found one on ebay for £30 but it's L/H drive, anyone know if would that go into a R/H drive VR6 or is everything the other way round?

AFAIK all the non-Corrado ones have the direction and fan speed controls the other way around. Who'd have thought it, the Corrado needing a rare, discontinued and under-engineered part?

Yeah I noticed that looking at some pics on ebay, I'm fine with that as long as I have some heat, atm I have a broken blower and dials, a wee bit chilly in the highlands like!

Any idea if the non-corrado ones can be still made to fit? Specifically a lhd Seat toledo as I don't fancy paying £100 if it'll work with a £30 part.

I bought a golf mk3 heater control panel to see if it could be used with some basic mods. I don't think it can although someone better than me could probably do so. Anyway, my findings:

The controls as we know are the wrong way around

These can't be simply turned over because the dial panel would then be upside down.

The position stops underneath the dials on the fascia of the panel are specific to the movement of the arms inside the panel - I thought of grinding them off at first.

Conceivably a solution could be to make a new cover panel to account for the new control position and direction of movement

You could use them without the cover panel although you wouldn't know what each heater position denotes plus the temp setting would be back to front (red/hot on left blue/cold on right)

no, its the controls - on mine the steps onto which the cable clamps clip on have long since broken off so i thought i'd try swopping with a golf control panel.

Ah fair dos buddy just have a couple of spares front panels. Also have 2 for spares if that any good?

Thanks for that. Yes in fact if you've got one with the cable support brackets intact that might work - doesn't matter if the rest is completely toast!

many thanks Lilfuzzer for sending the panel so promptly. Swift, did you get the cogs sorted? If not, let me know which one you need and if I've got one i'll pop it in the post to you.

I think lilfuzzer already looked but it's the bottom cog of the directional part. The underneath of that cog always breaks so I'm looking into getting some made
