VR6Pete 0 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi all, I have myself a primered corrado badge, I was wanting this in chrome though - I've seen Chrome paint, but does this really give you the chrome finish of a factory chrome badge? I have also seen processes such as Electroplating, has anyone had any experience with this or what would be th best method of having a factrory looking badge in chrome? excellent condition badges are near enough impossbible to find! Thnks Pete
dragon green 5 Posted February 16, 2011 You can have it powdercoated in chrome ! The finish depends on the preperation,it usually looks like polished alloy rather then deep chrome.
GlosterOx 0 Posted February 16, 2011 Electroplated Chrome onto plastic is a very specialised process, there are only a very small number of companies in the UK who can do it. Ian.
VR6Pete 0 Posted February 16, 2011 I just want it looking shiney - but more factory looking if anything.... sort of a restore job if you will :)
Alex_G60_Fanatic 0 Posted February 16, 2011 go with a crome paint or powder coat mate. Electroplating plastic is not simple as Gloster0x said. For a badge the paint looks fine.
MarkFoster 0 Posted February 16, 2011 I've tried the chrome spray paint on mine.... It just gives you a bright silver finish to be honest - it definitely improved the appearance of mine, but it didn't look like a chrome finish Mark

VR6Pete 0 Posted February 16, 2011 any pics of the results with chrome spray you have used? I've seen this - http://www.mbscustompaints.com/liquid-chrome-aerosol-p-96.html http://www.mbscustompaints.com/ghostchrome®-p-4.html But unsure if it works as advertised?
