Corrado Friendly Garages in Scotland

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Hoping to get myself into a corrado fairly soon and just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for good garages in Scotland that they would trust with their car (especially as I am no use with the spanners). Used to have a MK2 Golf GTI and have previously used Star Performance and Bedrock Veedubs but are there any other decent garages that specialise in corrados?

Cheers,

Peter

Hello,

It would help if you posted up where about in Scotland you are, but guessing from the Star Performance I think that's Aberdeen way IIRC.

As for Corrado specialists, there are very few in the UK let alone Scotland, anyone who deals with MK 2 and 3 Golfs should be able to do most of the spannering no problem as they share common parts.

with star and bedrock as your guide if your in the middle id suggest g-wagons in alloa, jims good but he tends to like plug in stuff nowadays and I wouldnt throw sticks at Berry if he was being attacked by wild dogs. Gordon at alloa doesnt care who you are and treats every car like its his,ive not sen a job yet that doesnt look factory.

Only been at Gordon's (G-Wagenz) once when he helped me with a seized caliper. Very meticulous and not your average mechanic (in my mind). Workshop is very clean and tidy, and the work he was doing on other cars looked very neat and well organised.

From feedback from other people too, I think he would be a pretty safe bet :)

20 miles from Stirling, here in Linlithgow we have two garages I go to.

1 - Tarduff motors - small family run business - generally very good with all makes.

2 - Hunters - larger family run business. Have VW technicians from places that closed down, and claim knowledge of VR6. Have been quite a bit with C, but had a couple of issues, mainly due to numpty, unsupervised "technicians". Would probably use again if stuck, though.
