northG60 0 Posted July 24, 2011 Hi all I went to open my boot today and as i was closing it i heard a crack and then saw the drives side boot lifter had sheered away from its bolt.... its a sunday so i cant do anything about this today but im wondering if my local vindis dealer will have the boot lifters but more importantly will they have the bolt in stock ? i have seen the lifters on ebay ect but are these okay to use ? dont mind the extra moey for originals tbh. dragon green 5 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Still available from the dealers, don't buy the chrome one's that come up on e-bay they rust really quickly ! If not i have a set of OEM ones coming off my car when i take the boot off. £15 posted if the guy whos taking the boot doesnt want them. PM me if you're interested. northG60 0 Posted July 25, 2011 i think i will try the dealer for some new lifters and the bolt's as my existing ones in the pic are a bit past the best and dont open or close very well.plus they look really tatty. is this a fairly common thing for these lifters? or just the age ? they are probs the originals so they did last 20 years which is pretty good. cheers Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

northG60 0 Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) little update....... i went to vindis today 535827550A -gas boot strut x2 £68.42 533827345C-ball pin (bolt) x2 £10.04 both prices not inc vat so total of £94.15 also the ball joint (bolt) is on back order and there is no date in which they can be obtained ...... and there is a small pin inbetween the bolt and car which is now obsolete gonna start going down the breakers route i think cheers Edited July 28, 2011 by northG60 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
