Owens G60 - Work in progress

Recommended Posts

Been a long while since I've put anything here...

Ran it on the rollers to find out where I'm at with it.b019f369-daef-84c6.jpg

208 at the crank isn't too bad :)

More could have been done but I didn't do the final run.

Happy none the less

Ultra nice looking engine cam cover. May I know what it is?

Very tidy and good looking engine compartment.

May I suggest a cover for your battery? How about one in carbon?

Cheers,

Redfox.

Cheers Redfox.

Its a Big 'G' rocker cover... they pop up every now and again on ebay... i found it by chance the guy had listed it incorrectly so pain next to nothing for it.

I have a polished battery cover but need to trim it down a bit as it will no longer fir due to the way i have to route the intercooler pipes... should be able to squeeze it in when it been trimmed

Not done anything to the car in a long time except drive it.

A friend bought a G60 the other day and wanted a painted bonnet to match the car instead of a carbon wrapped one... An hour or so of swearing at both cars and I now have this.

Been along time without updating this.

Well I fried my engine back in April!!!

It now has new pistons withe the bores honed and rings matched to them.

At the same time I fitted a port and polished head with piper 285 cam.

Exhaust ports have been matched to my 4 branch stainless manifold.

Aluminium pulleys have also been fitted with a full set of solid engine mounts.

A new dash that doesn't have loads of screw holes.

Audio scape door pods trimmed to match the rest of the leather.

I am now eyeing up another car spotted by a friend to use as a daily runner.

If anyone recognises it please chime in!

I'm going to track down the owner next week to see what the score is with it as its been sat for 10 months.

Non sunroof model too... Only ever seen one in the flesh.

Hope the price is respectable.

The cover comes as part of the SWG air box kit. It replaces the factory cover to allow for the second charger feed

Been a bit quiet o. The home front of late.

I've been building up a collection of parts to build a new engine for it.

The bottom end and head are done just waiting on arp head bolts to mate them together.

I'll be sticking with the 1.8 block but it now has forged pistons and rods to take care of the power I'm aiming for.

Big valve head to go on too.

The inter cooler has been sorted after managing to source one from a golf rallye

I've fitted a set of h&r ultra lows.

Back end will be able to come down a bit more after getting the arches rolled :).

Yes it is a merc 190, it's my house mates... He has it on hydraulics!!!

As for paint I'm going with the same colour, got a fair few patches that need sorting after being hit in a car park on the front end and nobody owning up.
