robrado974 1 Posted December 5, 2011 Have had my agreed value from performance direct back and the most they can come up with is 5k. Is this average or have you got more from your insurer?. Have submitted everything to them ,respray , new alloys, leather etc . thanks rob
Critical_Mass 10 Posted December 5, 2011 I got 4.5k and that was for a VR, told them about the new engine it had, coilovers, exhaust the usual stuff. Alloys. Didnt have a respray. IMO the 5k you've been offered seems a good deal. After all a standard car with leather would be fetching what, 3-3.5K? So depends what extra you've had done. martinb 0 Posted December 5, 2011 Where I work (HIC) our valuations are based on resale value in the enthusiast market, not the amount you have spent so £5k sounds like a good valuation based on what Corrado's are currently selling for? Looking on here / E38 etc etc, there are not that many at higher values than that. We also have a few classic car price guides (based on standard spec cars) and from memory (having a 'Rado myself, it was the first thing I checked!) the values these list suggest thats a decent valuation. Obviously I dont know the spec or condition of your particular car so maybe it is worth more but to me it sounds fair. I just got my Agreed Valuation agreed @ £2000! Still, a damn site better than "book" price though :) ---------- Post added at 10:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 PM ---------- I'd go back and try to push them to up the value for yours mate, really is a good un. It may well be worth submitting an independant valuation to them (Obviously this may not help with Perfomance Direct but I get to see a lot of AV applications at work and certainly those with an independant valuation, tend to stand a better chance at being agreed at the requested amount). Many insurers will accept an independant valuation from an owners club official or a specialist garage (although often as supporting eveidence to their own form + pics receipts etc), however it HAS too be independant - a valuation from a garage you have paid to restore your car is worthless as the insurers will not consider it "independant" (they are hardly likely to give an honest opinion if they have done all the work after all!). Hope that helps. Martin
robrado974 1 Posted December 6, 2011 Thanks for replies , sounds like i have done ok . There was somone on here that got a wack in the rear quarter [i think]. They had a value of 5,500, that only just covered the garage bill!!!. Just a bit concerned when these days cars get written off so easily . Rob
