fla 9 Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) Just moving this on again - is there any way to mount the speakers directly to the inner door skin using a mounting of sorts? Also, how can you strengthen or repair the door card as mine has split a little where the audioscapes are held (just along the join of the lower to mid section). Could something like this be used if it is screwed to the door skin? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Transporter-T5-speaker-adapter-pods-Front-Door-17cm-6-5-fitting-adaptors/182678677458?epid=20017007855&hash=item2a887f67d2:g:NKQAAOSwxS9ckLCE&frcectupt=true Edited April 28, 2019 by fla
GrahamU 6 Posted May 1, 2019 My next step is to make some door builds, I'm going to mount directly to the door panel and have a pair of those adapters from a mk5 golf, fits a 6.5" speaker, so will let let you know after the weekend hopefully

odub 0 Posted May 2, 2019 A little off topic but the difference between the early and late style door pods having the window switches mounted in them. Does anyone know if the late style were simply holes cut into the door pod to accept the window switch or were they recessed or similar?
fla 9 Posted May 2, 2019 They were just slots cut in the door pod just behind the speaker enclosure
odub 0 Posted May 6, 2019 Awesome thanks. I’ve got some early style ones that I’ll chop some holes into for the switches
