jedi-knight83 0 Posted March 24, 2004 sounds like alot of hassle seeing as you can just buy aftermarket ones designed for the various engine sizes.. 2p
jedi-knight83 0 Posted March 24, 2004 sorry just seen your other post. how much are they likely to be? i think a full set of aftermarket ones for the VR6 are about £200 (front, rear and gearbox.) ta
dr_mat 0 Posted March 24, 2004 Aftermarket uprated, maybe. An OE set can be had for about £100 total.
corozin 0 Posted March 25, 2004 First things first... do the things actually fit? I have some Massey Ferguson tractor mounts in the shed but the mods to make them fit my VR6 look a bit tricky...
16vStyle 0 Posted March 25, 2004 PeterMunns, I take it you Work at Avon? I worked there last year for a Year, The Active A8 mounts you are taking about have totally differnt mounting points! even if you made brackets up to get them to fit they will still be too big to fit onto VR or 4 cylinder blocks, The shape of most the new hydramounts on the cars you are talking about won't fit, (threaded bars from the top mount and Base Cup) They mount in a completly different fashion. Better off using mounts designed for that engine... There are some awsome engine mounts under development at the moment by a new company, but if I told you anymore I'd have to kill ya! Should see them at inters...
