Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 8, 2012 About to take my front wheel bearings to a garage tomorrow so they can press them into the housings. Just dug them out and notice they look different. The all metal one is the one I bought from vw, other one with the blue I got off the forum. Anyone know why they are different? 16VG60 1 Posted July 8, 2012 Ideally you would have been better to purchase both bearings from the same supplier, but not totally essential. Check the bearing part numbers which can be found stamped into the bearing casings. It is probably nothing more than a slight difference in finish specification with regard to the bearing cage seals. If you own a vernier calliper, check the bearing size details ie external and internal diameter, and width. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 8, 2012 Both came in a vw box with all the other bits, both have same numbers, but blue one says France on it, and other one doesnt, just.worried one could be non genuine. Did order two from vw but they messed up and I only got one. Thought it was a heathly discount until I got home and checked everything. Might just go back and order another for peace of mind. KipVR 1 Posted July 8, 2012 It's just the sealing ring, I shouldn't worry about it.
seanl82 23 Posted July 9, 2012 Dunno, if its French the chances are it'll give up and fall to pieces pretty quickly!
Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 9, 2012 Am sure I've seen France mentioned on some other part to do with the corrado. Can't remember where though. Going to buy another one anyway. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
