vr6's. what they worth?

Hello.

Ive come across a vr6 at my place of work. I know the person who owns it and is willing to sell it. Im thinking of buying it and selling it on.

It has about 70k miles

Metalic green

No rust

 

Its been dry stored in my sub basesent car park for nearly 2 years now.

No tax no mot

 

No leather.

Full service history

 

Its dusty but in extremely good condition.

I am a big car enthusiast and own fastroad trackcars etc but dont know much about these. He has given me a rough price to what he wants for it but just seeing how much its worth.

Largely agree with this. £3k top end for superb condition. Maybe £2.2k for less desirable colour and reasonable but not superb condition as the low mileage help (if genuine and can be proved).

Hi chaps. Yes milage is genuine which can be prooved. The current owner Is the second owner also.

 

Will try and get some pics with my phone tomorro.

 

It is in great condition.

 

Just wondering if its worth my while or give it a miss?

 

Id personally put it up for £2800 ono based on your advise.

He said 2.5k and he said they are worth around 5k! :/

 

Might offer him about 1.7k as ill have to tax. Mot and clean it up.

 

He did also say the arb bushes have been replaced.

Definitely not worth 5 grand. Maybe if it was pristine and 1995 with leather, aircon and not green.

 

Personally I wouldn't pay a penny more than £1,750 and even then I would want a stack of history/receipts with it.

I'd missed the lack of MOT. That will knock a lot off.

 

Very few cars are worth £5k now. It's extremely rare.

Get it mot ed and see what the damage is. Its got to be worth a shot at getting it back on the road.

It is a K plate as well so reasonably early which will hurt value.

 

70k mileage is low though. But overall condition is more important. It doesn't look mint. But tidy it up and you may see 3-3.5k (because of low mileage) But then tidying it up may cost a grand!

 

I quite like the green as well :)

From that photo and what you've said alone the car will need a full service, Tax, MOT and the front bumper painted. Plus whatever else to get through the MOT and whatever it needed before it was sat up for so long. Normally there's a reason a car gets left standing.

 

Personally I would be hesitant paying a grand for it as it sits if you're doing it for profit. If he's willing to let you take it for MOT at your expense before you talk about money, then it could become interesting.
