smn159 10 Posted October 27, 2012 I'd be in for a late rhd as well
5dOt1 0 Posted October 27, 2012 OK. I will upload some pics tomorrow, but the later styled HVAC will look like the one that is posted at first here :-) Available in red, green, blue and white for LHD. For the earlier styled I need help. Is the RHD HVAC-Control the same like LHD? Is there anybody how will take a photo for me? The price is 50 EUR ~ 40 GBP plus shipping. I will upload some pics tomorrow, but the later styled HVAC will look like the one that is posted at first here :-) Available in red, green, blue and white for LHD. 40 GBP plus shipping. So is it possible to do the RHD version, or is it the same as the LHD once installed?
Dude VR6 0 Posted October 27, 2012 In that case, I'll start the ball rolling and take a late RHD in green please, pm me payment details
5dOt1 0 Posted October 27, 2012 @dumptyboy No, it isn't the same. I have to change the LED positions, so I have to redesign the PCBs for each color sets. @Dude VR6 At first I have to finished the product. I don't will get money for parts they never build. I don't have a business. All I do I do it for hobby and only for the Corrado-Fans. So please be patient. Thx a lot :-)
dumptyboy 0 Posted October 27, 2012 No worries Dirk. Just let me know when you finish the product, and let me know how to pay you. Cheers. Rob.
r8umar 10 Posted October 28, 2012 Hi dirk, finally get hold of you. ill be in and defo have one as soon as you finish the project :D
5dOt1 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Here the pics I've talking about: Later style: General: The set (this is what you get) 1x PCB with ca. 50 SMD-LEDs (ready soldered of course) 4x special knob LEDs (one for spare) 2x knob LED wires 1x knob LED connector 1x connector for voltage in 1x assembly instruction 1x "the making of" Video-DVD (not needed, but nice to see...) Green V2.1 PCB off PCB on completed Blue V2.0 PCB off true color maximum brightness Red V2.0 PCB off PCB on completed So guys... These parts are all of LHD of course. To make PCBs for the RHD I need help. I don't have ever seen a RHD unit. so I need a good and clear photo from a unit with a demounted bezel and I need a 300 dpi scan from the backside of a bezel without the inner parts like this scan from the LHD bezel: CLICK I need it, because I'm not sure about some holes and the final positions for some LEDs. Pics about the earlier style HVAC will you get if anybody will answer my question (3th try...): Is the LHD and the RHD heat/ventilation Unit identical? I think yes, but I want a simple shot to get sure. Thanks in advance!
CazzaVR 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Is it possible to do them with the middle temp dial blue/red (as in the 1st post) + the outer two dials green?
5dOt1 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Hmm whats that? Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting. Jon_vr6 1 Posted October 28, 2012 Ive got pictures of the bezel etc BUT having trouble scanning the bezel as my printer is an all in one printer so it focus's more on the edges of the bezel than the bits in the middle. ---------- Post added at 1:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:23 PM ----------
Dude VR6 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Dirk if you need a heater control, I've got one you can have to trial fit if that helps
5dOt1 0 Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) Left/right early HVAC'S are the same ! I have a USA one fitted on mine, but as said before,SpoinfedTuning make these in a variety if colours ! Yes, I know James and his famous products. I've mailed very often with him. I’ve build an instrument cluster in cooperation with him for a good friend of James. But the difference is the way to illuminate the HVAC. I will always use LEDs, because the colors are real, the blue is blue not cyan, the red is red not purple and LEDs are much brighter, will live longer and comes without any converter. Just 12V in and it will glow ;-) The brightness is normally dimmable. And converters will squeak. But the printed EL-Sheets are good at the price. LED tech is dearer. It will need a new foil and a specialized PCB with many LEDs to get a smooth illumination without any hot spots. So I think every product has it own advantages or otherwise. To the best of my belief, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Here some pictures of the earlier HVAC: The DDI Style (matching with the DDI gauges faces) DDI Style off DDI Style on DDI Style PCB The 5dOt1 Style w/o AC The Set Set off Set on OEM+ but blue style w/o AC: The Set Behind The Set mounted The Set on And last, but not least... OEM+, blue with AC: The Set The Set lit I've build some other more since 2005, but the most only for one car, so I habe no photos. I've build a green one like the OEM+ style w/o AC, but I don't can find a photo. The most I've made was the DDI and the OEM+ in blue. The blue one ist favorit, if anybody has changed the switches to red and the cluster to blue with red LCDs. As a noob, your first few posts have to be approved by a mod. nothing to worry about. Ahhh OK, I understand. I think it is a good system to kill ads. Dirk if you need a heater control, I've got one you can have to trial fit if that helps Dude, I will PM you asap, I have a nice idea :thumbleft: Edited October 28, 2012 by 5dOt1

Dude VR6 0 Posted November 3, 2012 I've sent Dirk a heater control unit for him to get started on this. The fan switch is on the other way round on the UK spec unit, so he's got a little bit of work to do, but he's on to the case.
Goldie 2 Posted November 3, 2012 The green later display with the split green/blue temp control... I like... Watching with interest as it has always bugged me how dim that section of the dash is...
Yandards 0 Posted November 3, 2012 Looks like Spoonfed don't do the early style OEM panel in green but with the temp control in blue/red gradient anymore, shame as I would have liked that option to bring the dash up to a more modern style without being noticable during normal daily use. 5dOt1 0 Posted November 3, 2012 (edited) Hello guys, now I want to update you ;) Yes, Miles has sent me a complete HVAC unit of a RHD. That absolute freaky!! The trust in me is incredible! It's most appreciated. Thanks a million! Now I've started the project RHD-HVAC At first I've taken a photo from the 2 units, the LHD and the LHD. Here it is (left is LHD you can guess witch is the RHD :-) ) At next step I've scanned the backside of the RHD-Bezel. I've imported the file to an graphic program and I've added the right LED-Positions to get a homogeneous illumination. This positions are only for the red PCB. So I've to build a file like his for the green and the blue PCB's. Then I will start to draw the schematic circuit diagram for each color. After this I will import the outline with the LED-Position into the CAD-Program to draw the conducting paths. I will inform you about the next steps. When I have ready all 3 layouts with the 3 "CNC-Milling-Files", we can start the group buy. As God wills next weekend. Edited November 3, 2012 by 5dOt1 ...horrible spelling mistakes
