scott1980 10 Posted December 9, 2012 So reluctantly , I paid £1772 , in full ( wanted over £3000 in installments) for my 1995 2.0 16v ...steep , but bear in mind I have no NCB ..its...er...the second time ive had my licence , so im essentially a new driver with clean licence. I'm 31 and a few mods , exhaust , carbon fibre bonnet , alloys , weitec suspension ...all declared . The dearest quote was over £10,000 !! :shocked!: Admiral provided me with the cheapest quote , closely followed by elephant ... Anyway , how much could I expect to have knocked off next years (if any) quote ??
eugopnosaj 0 Posted December 9, 2012 I'm 25, 6 years protected NCD, 100% clean license, a few mods also on a 94 VR and my renewal this year was £442, down from £814 last year!!!!

That sounds brilliant, for 25 years and Milton Keynes. Who are you insured with and are your mods declared ?
eugopnosaj 0 Posted December 9, 2012 That's with Chris Knott with LV and Highway, based on 10,000 miles I think, including use of other vehicles, 90 day EU cover and free courtesy car (as well as the usual others). I was with Greenlight and they quoted £496 again with LV but after I phoned them back and told them I wasn't going to renew they said they probably could have matched it but I'd already paid Chris Knott. Mods declared are lowered sports suspension and sports exhaust. That is with a £350 excess however.

Hi Scott It should come down by at least 30/35% (whatever your NCB will be as 1 year NCB) and also if there are any loadings on your policy for whatever reason they get less. It's laways worth shopping around at renewal as the majority of people who renew with their own insurers are paying too much compared to other specialist insurers. trickyrobo 0 Posted December 10, 2012 Hello Scott, I was wondering when you would pop up on here with my old car, must admit i'm really missing the car still. Hope all is going well with it. I still come on this forum now and again despite not having a car at the mo as we left the last one in Marrakech last year and jumped an Easyjet flight back after a big road trip. You are in the right place for any Corrado based advice as this forum is spot on. I'll look out for any progress or updates you make with the car, keep posting. Might buy it back off you one day. Cheers, Pete.
scott1980 10 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) Cheers , so long as it goes the right way come renewal time ( DOWN !!) Ill be happy :thumbleft: . I'll probably shop around and see what deal I can get in August . Hiya Pete , yeah been on here for a bit and must say it's absolutely fantastic for advice and ideas. No way ! that must of been some road trip !! Did you not get a camper then ? Everything is fine with the car , for now ;) . Needed a new metal coolant pipe and new brake lines , both were corroded , before I finally got it on the road "properly" ...my own fault really for keeping it cooped up in a garage for so long , kinda dragged my heels getting my licence back really...just plain laziness :( It's been back on the road since August and up to now , apart from the immobiliser and a blown bulb behind the mileometer it's been fine . Couple bits and bobs i'd like to do like sunroof seal , badge (polished stainless) , Inlet manifold ...but nothing so major as it needs my attention straight away. Good to hear from you , was gonna ask you if you ever had any issues with the immobiliser but I changed phones and lost your number ... Doh !! Oh and the heater controls !! Grrrrrrrr ;) Edited December 18, 2012 by scott1980
