Wullie 1 Posted December 17, 2012 She who must be obeyed (when I feel like it) has been giving serious earache about getting something sensible (Calls her sanity into question somewhat!). I have suggested that I get an estate of some some kind as a daily which brings me to my query. Anybody on here have any experience of Reliant Scimitars? James. 9 Posted December 17, 2012 Chap near me has three of them. Guess with any fibreglass car, electrics would be the main bugbear. I like them. Especially with slot mags.
OllieVR6 0 Posted December 18, 2012 Are you kidding me? I had to google it, anything made by reliant is far from it! (This is just my opinion, I'm too young to have had any personal experience)
V-Dubstar 0 Posted December 18, 2012 Absolutely love Scimitars, and is on the list of project car next! Gotta be one of the SE5's or 6's though!! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gryRbyQ-ZYs/TD2j39RVF8I/AAAAAAAAAH0/SKJCkxy2OJQ/s1600/scimitar3.jpg
Jim 2 Posted December 18, 2012 Reliant Scimitar as a 'sensible' alternative to a Corrado? Shorely shome mishtake?
craigowl 0 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) My GP has a Subaru estate of some kind. It looks macho, purposeful and mean. PS - I knew guys who were into Scimitars, and I had a ride in two - but that was over 30 years ago Wullie! Never see any these days - they could be pigs reliability-wise, but the cool looks lured many. Edited December 18, 2012 by craigowl
OllieVR6 0 Posted December 18, 2012 The Subaru is probably a Forester. Great bit of kit!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 18, 2012 Or a Legacy I don't know that there is a Corrado 'replacement'. Something in addition too, for sure :D
diarmaid16 1 Posted December 18, 2012 I recently replaced my C with a legacy estate. Fantastic car, can't fault it (apart from it not being a corrado!)
Billzeebub 1 Posted December 18, 2012 I. Have a 2004 Subaru Forester Turbo and can't recommend it enough, likewise the Impreza Wagon and Legacy..brilliant all weather/purpose cars
BILLCOR 1 Posted December 18, 2012 Wullie, my brother has a SE6 3litre sitting in his garage, T reg and 98k miles, he's in Pittenweem, Fife. If your interested, I can PM his number. Bill.
Wullie 1 Posted December 19, 2012 Thanks for the replys guys, except perhaps the first one about a broken down one. I have always fancied the Scimitar and the "technology" or lack of it electronic wise is something I have a better understanding of compared to more modern cars and I am a compulsive footerer. It won't be happening for several months yet anyway so I'll have time to do a bit more in depth investigation. Surprisingly She who won't keep her trap shut quite likes them but is, as yet, unaware the Corrado will be staying. Bill, your brothers car sounds really interesting. Would it be OK to get in touch with you nearer the time re his contact details. I visit Pitternweem every year for the Arts Festival. Worlds a small place. No bother Wullie, it'll probably still be there, if you do happen to be along that way, pop in, its like an Aladdins cave of older cars, bikes and parts. He's on the main road where the petrol station is/used to be

He's on the main road where the petrol station is/used to be I'd probably get lost for a week in a place like that. The last time I ended up with two Citroen Light 15's and spent the next two years making one good one. I only went along with a mate who needed a lift with some parts for a Riley.
