I had a flux capacitor in my silver scirocco

Bitch of a thing to find a lightening bolt every morning, and I'd be late for work.

But then when it worked I could just travel back in time and not be late......

My mates used to call me McFly when I drove that car :(

Can you use a MK4 key then? Is it like the TT key? I thought they have a transponder chip in them?

Cheers

Kev

Kev - modding the key fob for your own key is simple enough and from what I gather, you can code the chip in the key to work with your alarm - obviously not a DIY job tho!

Oh what you mean arming the alarm using the MK4 key? That would be cool! I was referring to the transponder chip anyway, as in the VW immobiliser but I suppose that's irrelevant anyway as my C hasn't got a factory immobiliser.

But there isn't a problem in terms of cutting the actual key the same as the C's is there?

Cheers and apologies for the ignorance!

Kev,

This site says it better than I could I think!

Use the navigation on the left - sounds simple i know but when the page loaded for me it was on the last step and took me a minute to find the other steps! hehe.

Nice one, cheers mate. I didn't think it would be as straightforward as getting a MK4 blank cut to the C's key pattern!! The MK4 uses a Ford type key pattern, shame!

On my wish list is 500BHP :D only possible way of getting anywhere close is to fit another highly tuned g60 lump in the rear :D hmmmm somehow dont think that will be happening this year on my wages!! :( Oh well just have to keep dreaming!!!

Sorry Kev, but I unless I've read your post incorrectly, I think you may have the wrong idea.......

You need the Mk4 flick-key, which I think comes with a blank Mk4 key.

You remove this key and use it as a template to cut either your C key (or a copy) to the correct size.

Then you need to fix the C key to the Mk4 key fob.

Of course, I might have got the wrong end of the stick as well! :)

Yeah I've got it now! Obviously the MK4 blank is too thick to go in the Corrado's lock barrel, hence using the original C key and putting it in the switch fob! Have you got any links for the alarm bit?

Cheers
