Where would one get the Bosch terminal connectors used in VW

Anyone know where one would get new terminal connectors that is used on the VW harnesses ?.

 

also is there a list of types with names etc?.

 

Also what crimping tool do one need? - and where would you get it ?.

Most of them are junior or micro timer terminals, made by Tyco Electronics - you need a ratchet crimper for uninsulated terminals. VW sell the terminals on their own, but you'll be unlikely to get a dealer to order you some, and also a repair kit, which is a length of wire with a terminal crimped on at both ends.

 

You can buy them online from Radionics or Vehicle Wiring Products.

 

You'll also need a terminal removal tool.

I bought some bits from this place, think i got the link from one of Kevs posts.

Takes some navigating and i'm not totally sure if they sell what you need or not. VW sell the plastic terminals housings, i think i bought the stuff to do my header tank conversion from here.

 

The terminal removal tools are very handy, and new terminals should just push into the housings.
