Jim 2 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) Good news folks. Out of curiosity I emailed the Classic Parts people in Germany about scraper seals as there seemed to be enough demand on here to maybe find out about another production run. Guess what.. apparently they're already available :) Go to http://www.vw-classicparts.de/shop/ You can order directly from them or, if your German is a bit rusty, you can order through VW Heritage. Hope that helps some people (which I'm sure it will!) Email is below.. Hello, James... Attached a Scan from the parts catalogue... We have the part in stock again and it is to order.. Rorgasm 10 Posted September 11, 2013 Sweet Jesus, well done Jim:dance: Did you ask them about any other Obsolete parts? Mainly the room trims:rolleyes: Rory
Jim 2 Posted September 11, 2013 Nope - I don't need any of these parts.. I was just curious. I did however enquire about VR6 radiators and they can supply an aftermarket but I guess 'Classic Parts Approved' VR6 radiator for just over 300 euros. I just ordered a brand new Hella VR6 radiator from Ebay this morning for just under £150, they tell me this is an OE rad. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171119819233?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Jim 2 Posted September 11, 2013 Yeah - I ordered a Hella one in the end too, from 'theradiatorshop' - cost me £140 delivered which isn't too bad. Though I noticed that the radiator on my car, which is now leaking and doesn't look too old, is also a Hella one.. doh :|
Harrier 1 Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) Ordered drivers side trim for mine , thanks Jim Bit steep at £67 delivered but while they are available just as well, mine has a kink in it which bugs me Edited September 11, 2013 by Harrier
lewvw 10 Posted September 11, 2013 Hella is as good as oem, but saying that during 5 years at Blade Volkswagen radiators were so prone to failure on most models it was quite suprising. 3 years at Ford and I've done 1 rad!
