Hofmiester 10 Posted October 22, 2013 Hi guys, Bought some lamin-x to protect my front indicators and fogs. Fogs were easy but the indicators have raised text on them. Will that be ok to Appy over or do I need to sand the text off? Cheers Ron
seanl82 23 Posted October 22, 2013 You'd be better off trimming the text off with a stanley blade, but if you heat the lamin-x first with a hairdryer/heatgun, it should mould itself around the text a fair bit when it cools. Its not perfect, but not really noticable. Seeing as they are so small its worth a go before cutting it off, and you won't waste too much doing a repeater. dragon green 5 Posted October 22, 2013 Use the back of a Stanley blade, don't try and rush it,then sand it smooth, finally with a very fine paper, wash lens with water and washing up liquid.Dry with a micro-fibre towel,as said heat is good,I only used heat on the edges ! I noticed a small crack on one of my fogs when I washed it last weekend,Lamin-x didn't save that ! Good luck, take your time, and don't forget to post pics
