vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 Hi all, I went to see a nugget yellow corrado with a BAM 1.8T engine conversion today, which needs work, paint is faded and needs a interior as its been stripped out? What shall I do, shall I buy it or not? So tempted? Cheers Bobby
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 How hard is it too sort out the faded paint? will it need to be resprayed?
clumpy1 11 Posted October 25, 2013 How much is it?
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 He want £1500
clumpy1 11 Posted October 25, 2013 Depending on what kind of money has been spent on other part's of car, rust issue's,suspension/bush's plus what kind of history does it have how many previous owner's.Obviously mileage of the bam evidence of this not bad tho. seanl82 23 Posted October 25, 2013 You can pick up a cheap interior for probably £60, then do paintwork slow time. Depends just how bad the bodywork is, and how much it'll cost you to get it roadworthy (if its not already - minus interior) but that sounds like a pretty reasonable price tbh. vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 Very intersting, this also comes with a 12 months MOT
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 Also has a Emarald ECU
seanl82 23 Posted October 25, 2013 Get it bought mate.
clumpy1 11 Posted October 25, 2013 Getting more interesting ECU is worth £500 at least on it's own sound's a good buy but then you need to have the time to give to doing it.
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 I will have the time to do it, but the only problem is in the body it has two pins to hold the back seats in place, but these have been cut off, can some metal be welded in place again?
seanl82 23 Posted October 25, 2013 Easy enough to weld new ones in. I assume it was track orientated previously then?
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 Yes it was but he never got round to taking it on the track
bristolbaron 10 Posted October 25, 2013 forget rear seats.. flat floor and add a cage when you can. if you don't go for it, pm me details, this could be of interest! :bonk:
lard44 0 Posted October 25, 2013 I'd have it for that-if the ECU & BAM is already in and running, and it's not a rot box you're laughing...
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 It is running and the guy is going to put 12 months mot on it for me as well
vw bobby 10 Posted October 25, 2013 Oh yeah no rust either, just flat and faded paint
seanl82 23 Posted October 26, 2013 Seriously, why are you even asking this, get it bought. A few hours of polishing will bring the paint up if its just a flat.
