Another Aqua Blue Rebuild

Recommended Posts

Since I bought the Corrado I've been a bit slow in starting this project

but as with most things problems have been found and over come (see Corrado rebirth or death posting )

Well I picked the Corrado up and found out after I drove it home, that a dodgy MOT had just been done on it

So i a called the MOT station not best pleased but I gave him 3 options

(1) pick the car up and sort it out with no cost to me

(2) Report the station to VOSA

(3) A local garage to me to carry out the repairs with no cost to me

We agreed very quickly that option 3 was the way to go, so of I went looking for someone to do the repairs and found Luke at OCDD in Leeds

Luke gave the car a once over and compiled a list of Repairs need ( Complete new brake line front to back, disc, hoses, Pads ,Bearings, HT leads Fuel filter and a bit more )

Gave the garage a call with the cost with no arguments he swiftly transferred the monies into my account :smug:

All the work was completed by Luke (top lad) I was itching to get my grubby paws on it and make a start so after a mini service oils and filters fitted then it was good to go

The exhaust was total shot and needed to be replaced after asking around about exhaust I was unable to make my mind up

I decided on a custom made 2.5 inch stainless system but shortening the CAT down into a sports cat

Next up suspension new AP coil overs and top struts

Then out of the blue and old mate give me a call with an opening at his body shop to re spray the car over Christmas and January for a very good price, so to never turn down a god offer off it went and I hope to get it back end of January

Will keep posting as more is done kind of think its going to take some time

With the car still in garage for it's re-spray and my hands itching to do something my attentions turned to the wheels

I recently bought a set of D90 which had been polished some years ago but come do with a bit of a make over.

so armed with wet and dry a selection of polishes and buffing wheels.

before during and finished

It took all day to get the finish I wanted but it was worth it

I knew mine was a shed when I got it and I bought it to fix it up as a second car. It's the 40k and European drives that I had in my last one that got under my skin :-)

Is it too late to whip them off before they're finished? I know nothing about these things but maybe worth the question.

It been a bit of time since my last post but managed to sneak in to the garage every now and again

Started to clean the engine bay and soon found out that oil sticks to every thing and a pain to get off

I wish the previous owner had replaced the PCV valve when it broke:twisted:

Off came the air filter , inlet manifold and TB just thought I give them a quick rub over then 7 hours later and sore fingers a nice polished manifold and TB

Going to give the bay a good going over this weekend and refit every thing
