It will vary with other insurers but most of the underwriters were I work (HIC) will either rate on the grouping of the donor engine or the bhp increase the engine swap gives you and we do have a few who are very competitive on engine swaps. Not all classic insurers will take fairly major mods such as you are planning and as many classic policies are non refundable if you cancel, I would definately recommend checking with your current provider before starting the work. If you want to pm me some details and a contact number, I'll gladly see what we could come up with... Martin :)

Have you had a quote from HIC before? If so then it would make it a lot easier. Should be able to get a rough idea but could not guarantee any quote without speaking to you.. Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted January 25, 2014 No, not had a quote from you before, at least notin the last 4 or 5 years, or on this car, or at this address! I'm literally only after a ball park figure. As I say, the car won't be on the road for a few months at least so by calling you up, I will just be wasting your call time and I appreciate you are all busy guys there.
