Thought it was about time I put an update up about OldTax’s cat D Write-off. Following on from the thread

I’ll try not to be longwinded with the details.

 

I purchased Oldtax’s Corrado (Moo) as it seemed a shame to let another Corrado go to the scrap yard esp with the minimum damage it had received.

 

Basically a van had clipped the front driver side wheel bending the wishbone & popping the ball joint out.

After inspection here is the list of things that need doing.

 

1. Uprate to VR6 Top Mounts

2. Replace both Wish Bones

3. Replace ball Joints

4. Replace ARB Link Rods

5. Replace Tie rod ends

6. Replace front suspension as a precautionary measure

7. Roccer cover gasket split & needing replacing

8. Coolant Flange cracked & needing replacing

9. 4x new tyres requires

10. Wing Mirror needs replacing

11. Interia needs cleaning or replacing

 

Here are a Few pics from Jobs 1-10, unfortunately tie rod ends proved to be a bit of a problem to get off so JMR will have to help with that once I take MOO for the alignment & M.O.T.

I agree with these 2 well done for saving it. Mine was declared cat D too man.

seemed a no brainer, too good & solid to be scrapped. This is the problem now, insurance company's aren't interested in older car esp when you start adding the cost of Towing & hire cars. I'd be seriously upset if it happened to one of my other Corrados. Hope you managed to sort yours out Taylor?

8. Coolant Flange cracked & needing replacing

 

Have done these jobs before & enjoyed it so for the expense of some new Manifold gaskets, roccer cover Gasket & a coolant flange I thought what the hell. Even shot blasted the manifold ect as well
