scuttle going cloudy

I've got a one-piece scuttle made from GRP. I recently removed it as the areas around the wipers were looking dull, gave it a clean, polish and wax. Looked nice and shiny for about 2 weeks but now the whole thing has gone dull. Was the polish not a good idea? Should i spray some lacquer on it and then wax?

It really looks poor at the moment. Suggestions welcomed. I'll try and post up some pics tomorrow.

chemical guys trim restorer ive found is good for black plastics, apply in the dry let it set in and should be good for a few months or re-apply when you wash the car

I've found that using Maguires detailing spray on my car brings everything up lovely . It's the only product I've used that does not make a mess of the car after it's rained .
