Diesel2000 10 Posted October 4, 2014 I haven't pulled the other lock yet so unfortunately I don't. Its just to do one lock so was hoping to just buy a mix and keep a few spares.

Hello Diesel, if Dude VR6 can't help then give me a shout as I've got loads of them, as I bought a complete full set from my local VW main dealer, earlier in the year. I've got all the different sized wafer pins, complete with the small springs. I don't want to sell them all but don't mind helping like I say if Dude VR6 hasn't got any left. Diesel2000 10 Posted October 5, 2014 Hi mate, 3 of each number would be perfect. How much posted?
vw rule 19 Posted October 5, 2014 Hello Diesel, I can do 3 of each of the wafer pins, the ones I have are numbered from 1 to number 4, so (3 of one), (3 of two), (3 of three) and (3 of four) And I'll let you have 8 of the small springs as the old ones they can break up. £5.00 all in. The new wafer pins and springs work out about £0.20 per each, plus the cost of a fist class stamp and envelope = £5.00 all in. PS, I've sent you a PM of the above as well, just need confirmation that you're from UK Mainland ? Many thanks Si

RFvr6 10 Posted September 29, 2015 Hello all, sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead, I'm in need of the same kit to reassemble a door key barrel, like Diesel I have not yet taken out the barrel so I don't know what ones I need, does anyone have any left they would be willing to sell? I live in Fife, Scotland so I would probably need them posted thanks, Ross
fendervg 33 Posted September 29, 2015 All VAG lock barrels from the same era use identical pin sets, so a few old lock barrels from a breaker or a scrappy should see you sorted. Just clean them in an alcohol based solution and then lubricate with locksmith's grease before refitting. Or you can buy the set from the dealer, but you will never use them all! RFvr6 10 Posted September 29, 2015 that will be my next option, ideally I would like to get a set new ones, from vw it's £80 for a set of 80 tumblers, so here's hoping someone would be kind enough to part with a few from their own set
fendervg 33 Posted September 29, 2015 They don't really wear much provided the lock mechanism is kept lubricated. The key just pushes against them until they all line up and this then releases the barrel and allows it to rotate. I'd say you'll be fine with secondhand ones, especially from say the passenger door or glove box or boot cylinder off a car with central locking. Dox 23 Posted September 29, 2015 In the past I've just used the closest possible from used barrels and ground off the excess with the key in the lock.
