Basically

 

where can i buy some :) as im starting up with the last of the boost pipes

 

Also need to get a flexy joint like found on exhuast systems

 

thanx in advance

 

p.s Powerflow next to me doesnt want to know they are feed up of people taking the pi$$ with boost pipes so they wont do it

nope the one close to me doesnt want to sell me the stuff next one like loads of miles away :(

 

and i was going to give those two a call this weekend but ive go a feeling they dont do the flexy bend aswell lol

al gimme a buzz after 6 tonight, ive got boost pipes and a flexy at home, dont know if its exactly what you need but as your down the road it could be worth havin a look

use aluminium, not stainless.

 

I'm with you there Paul.

 

Stainless tubes will retain too much heat & cancel out the effect of the intercooler. Highly polished aluminum will retain much less heat & the mirror surface will reflect most of the heat from the engine bay. Far better choice IMO.

Aluminium also retains heat, which is why heatsinks are made from Ali.

aluminium doesnt soak heat it transfers it from the hotter plane to the colder plane so helps even the temps out. therefore it will help remove heat from the intake charge as long as the underbonnet temp is lower, but it doesnt retain heat well.

heat up a bit of ali in the oven with a bit of stainless and see which one cools the quickest

ok guys i understnad your points but i havent seen anyone that sells alu tubing

 

and one got any contacts to buyt hte stuff from??

Your local engineering/fabrications company will sell you as much as you need - usually fairly cheaply too. Check the yellow pages. Best to buy from the smaller companies as the larger ones tend to be interested in contract work only.

 

For a small cost they will usually bend or weld it to shape for you too.
