Wayne2015 10 Posted March 16, 2015 Wayne.. You do need to change your brake fluid. No doubt. As for the nipple covers... well i did say keep em safe ;) Heres to some happier motoring now all being well. Lol Hopefully all your hard generous work not come to nothing - if I decide to sell :(
Chuggs1 10 Posted March 16, 2015 Well Vag-hag has seen the car... Any thoughts from him on best approach?
Mystic Blue VR 10 Posted March 16, 2015 Wayne, I've been following your thread with interest. I don't think the problems you have (still!) are that serious. Fix the broken bits & if it aint broke don't fix it! I'm sure we've all had moments like you at some point & setting the car on fire seems like an option. Keep the faith mate & well done so far. :thumbleft:
seanl82 23 Posted March 16, 2015 Wise words above Wayne. If you do decide to go for another, I should have a nice Aqua blue one available in the next week or so. Price to you, exactly what it's cost me to get to where it is now. My time has been for free! I've written down every penny it's cost me, and that doesn't include the parts i used that were "in stock!" lol.
Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted March 16, 2015 That's generous of you Sean, Especially after spending 5k on parts...!
delfinis38 1 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Wayne don't give up now, your getting some where, theirs kind people here that will help you fix it... Anyway it will be a dull place without your questions :). If your serious about a new one you could be into a can of worms again unless you buy Sean's :) If you sold this would you be happy to sell to another person with the problems ? That's the green one Sean! blue one owes me more than I hoped, but it's very sorted now an would cost less than Wayne has paid in parts and labour so far I expect! Thats the thing I always like to fix then sell ... But how much more? I always used a specialist. This is 1st time i ever use a non-specialist garage to service my car - but worth it though :)

Lol OBD2 does work! 2 ENGINE errors! Panic over! Its ok Its only the 2 codes the garage found (engine speed + oxygen sensors) That the garage fixed and forgot to erase code??? BUT It is STILL stalling??!!! Scan other codes... Oh...
seanl82 23 Posted March 16, 2015 I'll take some pics tomorrow lunch time and WhatsApp you Wayne. I don't want to sway you away from yours, as its not far from being a very good car mate. I'll PM you with the rest of the details though if you're interested, or probably better to email as its a long list of details/what has been done. MOT retest on Friday and hopefully it'll be good to go from then.

delfinis38 1 Posted March 16, 2015 Wayne... You can help me now... And save me a call tomorrow... How much are vw charging for power steering fluid at the moment ? Is vw cheaper than ebay ?
Wayne2015 10 Posted March 16, 2015 U know what the saddest thing is? I have a bypass literally I can see from my house. It is 70mph Many round abouts And i used it 3 times a week (kids activities) and ONLY at nights 6-7pm when its quiet... Each roundabout i come to drop to 2nd then boot it! I mean to be able to drive like that at LEAST 3 times a week without traffic must be the MOST i am going to miss about the Corrado :( :( :( But the combination of safety (stalling) and trivial matters like now the door handle not working and no demisting function (heater directional control not work) etc - dose dampened the enthusiasm :( Maybe i should really ONLY drive it on my own AND only weekends??? Mystic Blue VR 10 Posted March 16, 2015 Thanks! But i need to reach deep deep in pockets again ....where does it end??? Unfortunately the Corrado, just like any 20 year old car, can savage the wallet, just tackle the jobs as funds allow if that's possible. When it's all sorted, & it will be eventually, & your driving down a country or moorland road on a nice day it's all worth it.
Tigerfish 10 Posted March 16, 2015 I used to get regular stalling issues with daft cone filters on mine when I first got it. After reverting back to a standard airbox, and doing a full reset procedure on the ecu, I've not had any stalling issues.

Lol I dont think my car is a lemon or about to break into pieces. Everything will break or wear down at some point, Its just feel like they all seem to start going wrong one after another ... :( I wouldnt be surprised if i start hearing a metal Chain noise - eeeeek! Its cool guys I just a bit down on £££ and luck (as Vag-Hag can back me up - lol)

I dont have a stock air box. But have bought a used BMC CDA filter - shall i try to fit that and see??? Also Just erased the fault codes on the scanner. Took it for a blast on bypass (whilst my son has a 2.5hr TaeKwonDo session :) Awesome! Anyway Unfortnately it stalled coming to a stop. Fortunately THAT would be captured by the scanner. It did: Engine Speed sensor again! So its the cone filter?
