Downpipe removal - VR6/24v

Recommended Posts

Morning guys

Looking for some tips or a general plan of attack for removing the downpipe from my 24v VR as I've got a lambda issue and need to weld in some new bosses.

Ideally I'd like to do it with removing as little from the rest of the car as possible. And it'll be on axle stands etc?

Any help appreciated!

If you can't get at the DP flange bolts from underneath (you can on a ramp), you'll have to pull the front end, whip the intake off and do it that way.

Unbolt from the cat and then there should be enough clearance for you to get some tools to the top nuts from above the engine and it should drop out with a bit of wiggling!
