Wayne2015 10 Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) As I dig out my car bucket list from time to time, to see what childhood hot cars I lustred back then, But, never had or justified throughout my adult driving life until recently... ...The special age one reaches mid way in life (feels like when one were legally allow to drive for the 1st time) and the urge to buy a bright RED sports car started my path to fulfilling my ownership of cars on my bucket list... After a couple of sexy classic Jap popup lights cars, (And Yes my 1st classic was a bright RED sports car :)), I really wanted the renown Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi or the VW Golf Mk2 GTi 8v, Though the other hot Jap hatches were still very tempting - RX7 Gen3 - reliability iffy Corolla GTi - no good examples Daihatsu Gtti - none exist? Mazda 323 4wheel drive turbo - non existent? So a hunt was on for a 205 or a Golf. As I can't fix my own cars, The Golf reliability won - and I was set to bid and win one Sunday... ...But As fate had it that golf went £1000 above my budget! Eeek! But then a little wary of the teeny 115bhp on the Golf, I wanted a bit more ooomph - didn't really fancy the 16v Golf for a bit more faster... ...WAIT! What's this? A VW Corrado??? Looks familiar, but what is it? Looked in my bucket list - it wasn't on my list?!!! WHY? This GORGEOUS white looking hot hatch I went to see. Yes, it wasn't as mint as the picture on eBay, Drives WOW! That's it I AM WANTING ONE! Do I buy this one, bit over priced??? Sod it, only have one shot in life! Bought! Even though the Corrado broke down 20mins after leaving the seller s house. Sat in a specialist garage for almost 2 weeks now... ...that one week driving her...I am STILL smitten with it! ... But, I still ask myself "How in the world this amazing looking, performing and every driver s wet dreams hot hatch - DID I EVER MISSED the Corrado on my bucket list???" fla 9 Posted February 21, 2015 There is something about the Corrado isn't there. I drove a charade gtti back in the early 90s. Great little motor and really rev happy. Never seen once since though. 205 1.9 - I still like it ;)
clumpy1 11 Posted February 21, 2015 Lol nice little piece there Wayne. In the last year I have seen 1 Mazda however the GTTI is a very rare beast I would love one that or a Jetta GT
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 21, 2015 Cheers guys Jetta GT? Now I know the Jetta - but didn't know they were hot as well? Dacia s too iffy Cossies too expensive. Was nearly tempted by Escort XR3i s ;) But still think Japs and German s got that build / reliability factor for someone who can fix cars ...me :( Anyone had a Suzuki Swift GTi ? One small nippy and feels dangerously fast? Other just raw suicidal unrelentless power? Lol
clumpy1 11 Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) I've also had a nova sport and a nova 2.0 16v twin 45's rapid not as quick as the sierra though. Sierra was stage 3 green injectors rs500 radiator/intercooler full mongoose etc it threw 4ft flames oot the back loved it. I'll get another. Plus it would slay bike's obviously not in the straight line. Edited February 21, 2015 by clumpy1
