Dan7690 10 Posted April 5, 2015 Hi everyone, I've been meaning to do a build thread for a while now and im finally getting round to it as ive got a bit of spare time. ive already done a fair bit of work to it and im not far off getting her ready for this summer. will be really good to hear any feed back! (good or bad) so i'll start from the beginning when I first picked her up, she was pretty much standard apart from a cat back miltek and some nasty 17" wheels but overall was in great condition, loads of paper work and I was only going to be the 4th owner which filled me with confidence. The drive home was just over 200 miles and I enjoyed every second of. she didn't miss a beat and felt like she was getting plenty of attention. so first job when I got her back to give her the first big clean, I do this with every new car I get. it makes me feel like the car is actually mine instead of driving someone elses (HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE AND DOESNT MAKE ME LOOK WIERD!!). there was a little rust but thankfully no nasty suprises. So now she was clean and mine it was time to start thinking about what wheels and getting her sitting nicely, I spent hours of the net looking at other rados and different wheels and the Schmidt modernlines kept grabbing my attention, few days later a cheap set popped up on ebay so I snapped them up. they were in poor condition so I sent them away to aerocoat in Norfolk straight away for a refurb and powder coat, I couldn't believe the end result. I had to get these on ASAP as there was a show coming up so I order some coilovers and fitted them as quick as possible, the first test with the wheels and suspension did not go to plan!!!!! I pretty much destroyed my rear tyres within a mile. luckly they were part worns, so I raised her up slightly and we were away. there was still a bit of rubbing after realising the arches were the most solid thing ive ever layed my eyes on I decided to fit some camber shims to temporarily get over this problem. it did the job and gave her a nice stance. so these are a few pics from the summer shows I attended. So the show season was over, it was time to tuck her away for the winter and set to work. (sorry for blocking the boobie wall) seems like a long time since I saw her like this!! :( I aimed to achieve a fair bit over the winter but make sure she was ready for the summer. The list consisted of: Stage 4 supercharger quickshift Rs outlet oil cooler induction kit 68mm pulley cam belt decat service smooth front and rear bumper smooth side repeaters and replace with US repeaters sort rusty spots smooth side strips cut arches paint underside of bonnet powder coat various components upgrade audio
Dan7690 10 Posted April 5, 2015 various pics of her being stripped down in the prosses I started talking to anna from heritage about a new carpet she was making so I decided to go for it and sent it away for the work to be done. they did a cracking job (I didn't have red that was just them trying it out) The mats have been binned too ;) next it was time to concerntrate on the engine so I got in contact with John at JMR, I sent all my parts away to him to be worked on and the end result he pulled out was amazing. it was better than Christmas opening up the return delivery!! :)

mic_VR 3 Posted April 5, 2015 Red with modernlines is about as good a look as there has, or will ever be for a corrado. IMO. Good work mate, I'll be keeping an eye in this thread.
