MDMTechnik 10 Posted February 24, 2016 Dilemma time. Getting the car back tomorrow at last but one of the alarm fobs is not working now so I'm down to one fob. It's a Pirhana alarm from the 90's and I can get the brain sent with the 2 fobs to London to get the non working one reprogrammed or I get the system removed and a new more reliable and better one fitted ?? Any recommendations or thoughts ? Lastly my brake compensator valve and spare front brake shields have arrived. Hi mate. Would you sell rear brake shields? £? massbad69 10 Posted February 24, 2016 Hi They are front shields and I will check mine over when I get my car back then decide. Cheers
massbad69 10 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) So been chatting to the alarm guy today and between us we have chosen to go for an Autowatch system which is top notch. http://www.autowatch.co.uk/products/advanced-alarm-systems/9-autowatch-457rli-t-remote-ultrasonic-alarm-immobiliser-system Hopefully it will get fitted before the end of March and finish this years spends and work. The remaining bits for the brake valve fittings have been shipped today so once they all arrive I will check to make sure I've got everything. Don't know if I will get the valve fitted until next years Mot and service time ? Edited February 24, 2016 by massbad69

massbad69 10 Posted February 24, 2016 Could have got the Toad that was recommended to me for £299 at my door but the Autowatch was £80 dearer. I'm also paying £60 to get the existing system removed as well as another random immobiliser removed. So £440 in all. I had another quote from a different company but not mobile, just at there base, for the Toad system for £349 for the total closure. I'm happy with the Autowatch as it has some clever features. matteusVR6 11 Posted February 25, 2016 Hey buddy, where did you get your compensator? I need one now too amongst a few other things! Pros and cons of a thorough service station 😀
massbad69 10 Posted February 25, 2016 Valve was from Tierod on eBay, bb components I think ?
matteusVR6 11 Posted February 25, 2016 Cheers dude, can't find that but found another shop on eBay selling at £87 delivered, does that sound about right?
seanl82 23 Posted February 25, 2016 The one from tierod is described as pressure regulator which may help your search. Think the one at £87 is from vw heritage so if you go for that one, use the discount code on here and buy it through their site for a little saving! matteusVR6 11 Posted February 25, 2016 Perfect, found it! I'll just go with that one I think! Cheers lads.
massbad69 10 Posted February 27, 2016 Dropped off the spare Speedlines this morning and going with anthracite powdercoating with diamond cut rims. They should work well with the grey car and black details. Picked the car up as well with the normal Speedlines blasted and powdercoated and all the work completed. Rubbish pics as it was darkish in the garage. Cleaned the car and fitted the new retrimmed steering wheel.

massbad69 10 Posted March 3, 2016 Cracking install of my new Autowatch 457RLi alarm today, old Pirhana removed as well as a semi redundant immobiliser which was still wired in yet was disabled. Top quality install by the mobile technician, who fitted the new blue LED through the left side blank where the existing red alarm bulb was and he fitted the 2 digital ultrasonic detectors in the holes at the top of the A pillars rather than drill holes and I've remembered to keep the hole caps. Picking up the diamond cut Speedlines on Saturday and planning to complete the painting of the rear and front brakes black at the weekend ??

massbad69 10 Posted March 4, 2016 Cheers Spare front rubber mats arrived from Tom, a wee clean and they will be perfect. Ordered blue wing mirror glass for both sides and brushed stainless VR6 sill protectors. Get my wheels first thing tomorrow then planning on finishing the rear brake painting. massbad69 10 Posted March 5, 2016 Lunchtime and do far I've picked the wheels up, cleaned and waxed the 2 rear wheel arches, cleared out the earth and rubbish from behind the fuel filler area in the arch and painted the rear disc centres and edge to try and stop the rusty look. I've second coated the disc so switch it drying then going to try a 10mm spacer on the rears.
