Roger Chatfield 0 Posted October 6, 2015 Anyone see wheeler dealers? Edd sorted out the red front grill VR6 badge by using a sticker... It actually looked spot on. So, anyone know where to get them? And is it possible to get them in chrome? Rog.
tomi 10 Posted October 6, 2015 Yeah, that was a cool idea with stickers,
robrado974 1 Posted October 7, 2015 Shouldn't be to hard to find someone to make them . Relatively cheap I would have thought .
Kaiser7 10 Posted October 13, 2015 Sent my rear badges away to be rechromed. Not 100% happy with the finish though, its a bit pitted in some areas but miles better than the faded brushed ones. Before After
Roger Chatfield 0 Posted October 14, 2015 I wonder if they can be Aqua dipped? Rog.
georgaco 10 Posted October 21, 2015 Who could say which vr6 models/years were wearing the red and which the grey vr6 badge??? Never got to figure it out..... Mine is a european 92 and she is wearing the grey ones... Thks
diarmaid16 1 Posted October 21, 2015 For vr6s upto '93 (engines with distributor), theses had the red vr6 badge. From '94 on (coil pack engines), these were grey badges. I think!

ManAtMachine 10 Posted October 26, 2015 I ve just got this knocked up. Probably have a red and polished VRT version soon. Then I may look into a way to fix to front as you can probably see this is rear only
easypops 8 Posted October 26, 2015 Tried this tonight, not the best as I couldn't find my scalpel..... So had to use a blade only, looks better in the photo and I'm unsure how long it would last anyway. Didn't do any proper prep as this was only a first attempt, still hoping that the actual stickers can be sourced :)
robrado974 1 Posted October 26, 2015 I posted up on Friday . The badge is with the graphic shop and hopefully I will have some news tomorrow.

ManAtMachine 10 Posted October 26, 2015 Whats the problem with a can of red spray paint? Forgive my ignorance
easypops 8 Posted October 26, 2015 Trying to avoid the intricate masking that would be needed to retain the black parts, plus a sticker is reversible. That's how I see it anyway, others may differ :)

Fine wine, Belgian chocs. 1 Posted October 29, 2015 Hmmm, very interesting. I replaced my rear VR6 badge with a new genuine one about ten years ago or maybe more. The one I was supplied was exactly the same as these cheapy chinese copies. Reckon I'll order me one and see what it's like.
robrado974 1 Posted October 29, 2015 The rear badge is rounded , so you cannot apply the sticker . It would curl up on the edge . I have painted my one . The front is on order and I will have news on Monday .
ManAtMachine 10 Posted October 30, 2015 What size are the front badges out of curiosity, anyone got a measuring stick that can tell me? They seem slightly bigger than the rear badge
robrado974 1 Posted October 30, 2015 I'm not at home at the moment . They are bigger than the rear badge . The front Golf badge is even bigger .
