pablo_vr6 0 Posted June 28, 2004 saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW can we use these keys on the raddo? or do they have a transponder built into the fob? I also have a cobra alarm fob and it would be the icing on the cake if it could be hooked in :) cheers -pablo
vr6storm 0 Posted June 28, 2004 tom aka VR6 was on about this last year......best PM him to see how he got on with it..........anyway i'll move this into "Ice n secure" as that seems better suited for it rather than tuning and mods

pablo_vr6 0 Posted June 28, 2004 did you get it hooked up the alarm mate? I think I could dismantle my cobra fob and wire it inside the key :D
dinkus 10 Posted June 28, 2004 I'm gonna get a toothbrush on my original keys and clean out the VW logo...does that count as a mod? :D
VR6 0 Posted June 28, 2004 I haven't got it hooked into an alarm, so I'm afraid I can't help you there!
Jim 2 Posted June 28, 2004 Wonder how much those flip keys are from the stealers...
VR6 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Think they're about £80 + VAT .... and that's just trade price. Retail cost is well over £100 I reckon. I could maybe get a couple at less than the trade price....
Jim 2 Posted June 28, 2004 Ouch. I think for that kinda cash i'll stick with my outdated non-flippy key :)

I think for that kinda cash i'll stick with my outdated non-flippy key :) then again jim you could always get the one that goes in to little pouch-type-thingymajig (tech term again  )the ones that have the 16v or G60 logo in red  here's a link to one on e-bay btw http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 90095&rd=
yalan 0 Posted June 28, 2004 the casing on the VW fob doesn't allow much space for and aftermarket circuits in there. Planned it with my toad but there was absolutely no way it was going in there - even with some of the components relocated. Toad PCB was doublesided too! (Thank you to Docklands audi for their loan car & dismantled fob!)
scruffydubbers 0 Posted June 29, 2004 i ve done exactly the same. i was hoping to get the alarm in on mine, but would nt fit. but i love the flip keys think there great :D
Eug 0 Posted June 29, 2004 Are there any Alarm Fobs that WILL actually fit inside the MK4 flip key internals ? I've got a MK4 flip key already ... I've got the standard VW-branded (Scorpion ?) alarm fob which is pretty small on it's own.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 29, 2004 I prefer the normal key. The flick keys are heavy and quite awkward and vague to use on the C, especially if you've got loads of other keys on the same ring. I dunno, it just doesn't feel right.
