A little confused on parts .

Recommended Posts

Ok . The main part that sits under the engine is the subframe correct ? . The crossmember is also the rad support? . Just so I know to ask for the right parts . When I google the pics of these , they both come up as one heading .

Thanks

Rob

I'm on my phone so can't see the above link. There are 3 separate items. Subframe, crossmember and radiator support. I can stick a few pictures up later this evening if it will help? :)

Top is the front cross member, (sometimes i've seen this called a subframe), Bottom is the rad support (which i've seen called a crossmember)

And then the subframe

Jim Ellis VW Parts exposes the parts catalog, if you don't want to register:

Hey Jim,

What is the knack to insert the four rubber mountings into the engine carrier/front subframe/cross member?

Lots of fairy liquid, a piece of tube and a threaded rod to pull them in.
