delfinis38 1 Posted December 5, 2015 Anyone into rc cars that would like to spec me a car out... Used to race them years ago but out of the loop these days... I'm looking at a Schumacher cat k1 aero as a toy. Guess I need radio gear, motor, speed conroller, charger and a set of batteries... What would you go for ? swiftkid 1 Posted December 5, 2015 I used to race 4wd buggy, havnt done it for years. Had a losi xx4 which got converted to an X factory X-5. Would love to do it again but all my gear will be ancient now. Have a look on oople for discussions on spec, I used to get stuff from apex models.
16VG60 1 Posted December 5, 2015 I ran a radio control car club back in the 90's. The juniors would race indoor electric Mini stock cars in one of three classes. The seniors raced outdoor 1/8th 4WD I/c engine buggys. I used to race an ex Kyosho Works Turbo Burns with a Novarossi engine. I kept my last Buggy to the current day, my ex works Kyosho Inferno which also runs a supremely mad Novarossi engine. These are huge fun on an open piece of ground. Perhaps we should have an RC Buggy race at one of the shows? It's got to be better than having these cars gather dust in the garage!
fla 9 Posted December 6, 2015 John good idea. Bought an old hpi racing mt2 which I've stripped down and am rebuilding. Some stripped gears etc and engine compression seems a bit low but should be good when its done. Maybe not as fast as some of the others though...
16VG60 1 Posted December 6, 2015 Am I right in thinking that was belt drive transmission?

MZpog 10 Posted December 7, 2015 I have a Kyosho MP7.5 Kanai 2 in my garage gathering dust. I really should resurrect it or flog it. Dude VR6 - Otley model sport is a fine shop but seem to specialise in 10th scale. Their local to me and I've used them for years (from when they traded from a newsagents).
