George Lee 10 Posted February 4, 2018 Makes sense, They're prone to water damage. Water gathers on the scuttle, passes down fan cowling and into that area which kills the ABS ECU.Would a change in fluid do much help with the pump? Just thinking as it's been off the road for ages would the fluid of going too thick ? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
George Lee 10 Posted February 4, 2018 Sounds like the standard mode of failure for the ABS pump units. Dirt and moisture get sucked in and damage the PCB connections. You might be able to get the board repaired or else you will be looking at a second hand or refurbished unit. Is the ABS unit on the 16v the same as on the VR? If it's not it might be more common, so cheaper.Im not sure if the pump is at fault at the moment as the abs ecu has seen better days. This would cause it not to work surely Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
seanl82 23 Posted February 4, 2018 Seeing as its been off the road for so long, brake fluid should be changed anyway but yes, it may make a difference to the pump. The valves are what usually fail, and they generally get a bit sticky if left too long with stagnant or fluid with moisture present. Replace the ABS module first then see if it brings up any further faults. If it throws up an inlet or outlet valve on the pump, take it for a bit of a spin if you can and get aggressive on the brake pedal. It has been known to free the valves up so worth a shot before replacing it mate.

They both have power and 79 was clicking on ignition. But 179 wasn't and that's power to the pump. Will it kick in over 15mph ? How do I test relays ? Thanks Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
George Lee 10 Posted February 6, 2018 Some pictures of the abs module I took out, deffinalty got water damage and looks bust to me. New one had arrived so install it tommorow and see what happens 🤞 hopefully fixed my problem. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
George Lee 10 Posted February 7, 2018 So tonight I cracked on with putting my new abs ecu in. I also got the relays, 79 and 179 just to make sure. After installing I started the car to see it had solved the problem. And..... the abs was fixed So I was onto the next job Looking back at the previous MOT's, the last 2 both had advisorys for a minor oil leak. After a quick look it was obvious it was just the rocker cover gasket. So started taking inlet off to get to it After removing the inlet i got the rocker off While there off I'm also going to give them a clean and possibly a lick of paint to tidy the engine up a little Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
George Lee 10 Posted February 12, 2018 Finally got round to finishing the inlet. I would love a polished one but I havnt got the patience to do all that sanding and polishing. So for now I painted it black with the red details. Nearly ready for mot. I'm working through the list to get it ready so then I can at least use it but also do bits to it at the same time. Next job was the rusty arch. The only really bad part on the car. Someyone had done a bad bodge job to pass the last mot so I wanted to take the wing off and do a decent repair. After a lot of shouting as the two 17mm bolts that hold the front bumper on wouldn't come out. I finally got it off I'm hoping I can do a decent repair and blend the paint in, if not I'll sand it all down and paint the entire panel. George Lee 10 Posted February 21, 2018 Havnt updated in while as work has been manic and has stopped me doing as much as I liked, would of liked it to be done now but she's getting there. So I got the wing of and bought a repair kit which had all the filler and ally mesh I need to do the repair. So I got cracking with the repair and have been doing little bits throughout the week. This is where it's at now. Looking a lot better, very happy with the result. All primered now ready to be flattend and then I can give it a top coat. And today this arrived ! Will be installing this and the new lambda sensor when the wing is finished and on. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
George Lee 10 Posted February 25, 2018 Managed to get the wing on this weekend and very happy with how it's turned out. Just needs to overspray taking off and the paint blending in. Next was the exhaust I had to get the grinder out to get the old one out as it wasn't coming apart. New one going on Also started on the painted, I used g3 scratch remover which removed the first layer and the difference was amazing. Picture doesn't really do it justice but the furthest part of the roof I had done and the closest wasn't done. It looks a lot better. Just needs a good polish now. odub 0 Posted February 27, 2018 Top work. I have a couple of de-cat pipes that would go well with that exhaust if you're interested
George Lee 10 Posted February 27, 2018 Top work. I have a couple of de-cat pipes that would go well with that exhaust if you're interestedCheers dude I was looking at them but wasn't sure whether you can take one off a car if it comes with one. I thought it might fail MOT if I took it off. If not then I may possible do it. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
odub 0 Posted February 28, 2018 It should fail an mot but they do open up a bit more power when tuned properly
George Lee 10 Posted March 2, 2018 Seeing as I was off today I thought I'd crack on with getting the corrado back together for it's MOT. And she passed with no advisories ! Absolutely made up and drives amazing Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

George Lee 10 Posted March 8, 2018 Rear bumper is nearly finished. Needs rubbing down and then laquer. Coilovers arrive tommorow, and picked these up tonight just g23 adaptors and new nankangs T5 banded steels. 7.5 front, and 8.5 rear Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
George Lee 10 Posted March 12, 2018 So I got the rear bumper all finished off and on the car. I worked on her most of Saturday night putting coilovers and wheels on hoping to drive her to ultimate dubs but I couldn't get it finished. Yesterday I got it all finished and this is how she's sitting now. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
odub 0 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) Looks mean on the steels. I hope you don't drive it too fast with that sidewall though Edited March 12, 2018 by odub
