mooG60 11 Posted February 26, 2019 The top rubber mounts of my front coilovers are perished. My question is... ....do I need to buy specific top mounts from the makers of my coilovers, or do all coilover manufacturers make theirs to fit the standard VW mounts? Thanks in advance
Philly-R6 0 Posted February 26, 2019 My coilovers used the normal top mounts for the car.
SteveM 10 Posted February 26, 2019 Normal top mounts on mine. Buy good quality parts though. Never had any issues with Lemforder or Febi/Bilstein stuff in the past.
mooG60 11 Posted February 26, 2019 Great, thanks for the replies chaps. While I have the thread open..does anyone have any recommendations for best makes of coilovers please. One of my rears has no gas in it sadly, although you'd never notice with the tautness of the springs. Currently running on some Pro Sports. Don't want to spend the earth but I know enough to stay away from those lovely Chinese offerings. Thanks guys!

vagstuff 13 Posted March 1, 2019 AP are good mid range option KW V1s if you want to spend a little more Hello mooG60, As regards Simeon's helpful mention about KW V1's, I coincidentally received an email this morning from Awesome advertising "big savings" on the KW range... they're doing KW V1's for Corrado's at £684, down from £784 [ie, some 13% off] from today until 31st May https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/kw/kw-variant-1-coilovers-volkswagen-corrado-53i/ NB: the listing doesn't specify if that's G60-specific or VR6-specific, just "Corrado 53i" [so I'm guessing that's the price for both variants ?? ] On looking around at other currently comparable online prices : £681 at Larkspeed https://larkspeed.com/shopper/i/V10280005/VW-Corrado-53i-KW-Coilovers-Variant-1-Inox £690 at europerformance https://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=251088;car=vwcorrado Hope this helps with your deliberations.
